I've been trying to delete this virus that pops up in my Temp folder. Whenever I try a virus scan, the virus doesn't pop up. Its name is cvas.dll, or something near that. I really need help and the first time I've encountered a virus, I lost over 300M. So please try to help me. :P, and also. I can't update my Virus Protection. I press update but it says the program trying to be executed is invalid or destroyed. Please help. Please. Summary - I need to get rid of a virus that doesn't show up in my virus scans and I need to update my Virus Protection but it says it's invalid or destroyed. If there's a possible better virus protection, please link it. Thanks! :D I've tried deleting it when it pops up, but whenever I restart / turn off - turn on my computer, the virus pops up back there.

matrixcowIf you have 2 computers, go on the un-infected one and download a anti-virus startup file with firefox. Then put the file into the USB, and install into the other computer. Update, and restart with safe mode. Run a scan and hope you find what you're looking for. If not, System Restore to a point before the virus symptoms began.

Few programs you're gonna need.... Super Antispyware from Super Antispyware link Malwarebytes AntiMalware from Malwarebytes Antimalware link Combofix from Combofix link Super antispyware needs to be installed in regular windows. Malwarebytes can be installed in either regular windows or safemode. Combofix should be run from safemode. It will prompt you to install the windows recovery console if you dont have it already. as you will be in safemode, just click no. Run SuperAntispyware and Malwarebytes first, then boot into safemode and run Combofix. Then rerun the first 2.

This happened to my dad's computer. The virus will just keep on duplicating itself, a simple reformat solved the problem.

What I posted is a quick guide, more in depth information can be gotten from here for Windows XP XP Removal Guide or here for Vista Vista Virus Removal Guide Running CCleaner before and afterwards is also a good idea and Auslogics Boostspeed has a 15 free trial you can use as well. @ Everyone saying reformat: A reformat is simple if you know what you're doing. Also, there is all of the user's personal data (documents, music, movies, outlook contacts, etc) that need to be backed up before a wipe. Also if those files are scanned and cleaned before putting them back on the machine the computer can be reinfected. Plus all the programs need to be reinstalled. Not to mention if he doesn't have the restore disks, he'd have to order them from him manufacturer.

Umm, Twister. To linked, you just have to post the link. The code is for if you want the link to say something. Put the link after the equal sign and type what you want it to say between where you are putting your link now. Edit: Also, you must have the http part of the link on there as well.
