Mplayer on wii on play avi files.

Ok so i've asked this on many forums and it hasn't been answered, so this is my last resort. I figured that basil had a lot of pirates and/or techies. Anyway i haev mplayer on my wii via homebrew channel. When i first TP hacked it and got mplayer, everything was working fine. I would put files on an SD card and play them on my wii. It would play mpeg, avi, mkv, everything. Now the avi's wont work. sometimes i get a rly weird screen but i can still here the sound. Sometimes it shuts off comepletely and goes to a screen with white text on black background.Tehre r like random numbers, and an error message. I dont understand why it used to work, and now it doesnt. Its rly annoying cuz i haev to find like an mkv version of the movie if i want to watch it on a TV. Im running wii system menu v 3.2, my homebrew channel is the one designed for 3.4. Please halp! thanks

just convert the avi's to mpeg or any other video file type. There are numerous programs you can download that can do this for you. and this is to be expected, especially with homebrew stuff, it aint gonna work all the time. It may work one day but the next it can stop working completely, that's the risk you run by using that stuff. oh yeah, wrong section if anything this should go under the chat section and why didn't you ask this on a homebrew wii site? they have tons of forums with these kinda topics.....

Did you install anything new in homebrew? It may be messing with mplayer's ability to play files. Did you change anything on your SD card? Have you tried taking mplayer off and putting it back on?

Uninstall and reinstall Mplayer. That should solve your problem. And IIRC, all Homebrew channel menus are backwards compatible.

cause wii sucks. get a ps3 if you want to watch avi files without downloading mplayer and stuff.

Well sorry, But no it is not, I have custom firmware on Many of my different devices, and have found that no, It IS NOT illegal, all something like this will do is void a warranty if you were to have one, SO PLEASE, Learn what you say is illegal.... Take a grammar class, please.
