Hello everyone, I have a level 45 Thunder Breaker and I have been thinking about my future build for a while now. The recommended build for 2nd job says to leave Booster at 11 and Max out everything else. However, me and some other people I know are incredibly peeved off by short lasting times and very frequent buff-recasting. So I have thought about losing either Cork or Blast in exchange for maxed Booster during 2nd job. This has some pros: -You don't have to deal with a short lasting time until mid-3rd job. -Your DPS increases a little, as you can fit in an extra attack or two during the time you would take to recast Booster. -In 3rd job, you can add the extra 9 points into 3rd job skills, instead of going back to Booster using those more valuable points. Another thing to consider is if you aren't going to max Corkscrew or Blast, then is there any point in getting any? If you take 9 points off of 1 of them, you are only left with 11. Personally, I do not think that this is a worthwhile investment. Blast is quite useless with only 11 Points in it, and Corkscrew does as good a job at 11 as it does at 1. Therefore, it is worth considering maxing out Sprite as well. If you had 11 beforehand (0 Dash), you only need 9 more points to max it. It also has a 200 second cooldown, so it would be perfectly synced with Booster if both were maxed. This would leave you with Maxed Sprite, and all of your 2nd job skills maxed, except for either Corkscrew or Blast, which would have 2 points in it. Though people say Sprite is useless, I argue that it is not. It often finishes off monsters who you have almost killed. It is always annoying to turn back on a monster who has virtually no HP left, and the Sprite can prevent this. It also is a great lurer and makes you need to move less, increasing DPS. The most important thing is that a summon circling you is FUN, and the Sprite looks quite cool. More points in it would increase duration, providing the same benefit as a higher Booster, and make the damage higher so it can act as a finisher more effectively. Now the biggest question: To forego Cork or to leave Blast? Corkscrew is used mostly as a mob-making tool, as it must be fully charged to deal good damage. It can build mobs nicely at level 1, however, and a higher level doesn't improve this capability. If one were to make it 2 or 11 (Depending on whether or not you want Sprite) and max the rest of the 2nd job skills, you would have the uses of Blast and a good mob-making move. However, there are also reasons for leaving Blast. It can only be used when your Energy is fully charged, so a maxed one would only be helpful about half of the time. It only becomes useful when it is a high level and when Energy Charge is at a high level too. This means that you will only get the benefit from choosing Blast during the mid to late 50s, at the earliest. It will only stay useful for around 15-25 levels, until you get Sharkwave. Getting Blast GREATLY diminishes the need for Cor

This is all my opinion and i have no real experience, so take what i say with a pinch of salt. When you're doing the CSB->SSK combo you won't be fully charging CSB(unless you have to walk a distance/go up a rope) so it's damage is minimal, sure leaving it at 2 it's going to do even less, but the higher level blast will make up for the damage not done. Just my thoughts.

Well, Why WOULD you want to have more points in 3rd job? Sharkwave > Shockwave anyway.... The points you'll normaly put in Booster at 3rd job, aren't USEFULL somewhere else.

You can get maxed Drain and Transform faster (Transform for the buffs). It isn't so much about 3rd job as not being annoyed every second until I get a decent Booster in 2nd job-latish 3rd job. bridgey07 said: " There's a few places where he actually sums it up, try reading. When exactly does Blast redeem itself? During the moments when you have Energy Charged? Those moments aren't that common, and anyways, SSK does more damage than Blast on a mob of 6, which isn;t hard to get with Cork.

Leave Cork at 11 and max it in 3rd job instead of Booster. It makes no sense not to have all your 2nd job skills maxed when you can clearly drop points from Shockwave and Transform.

linkmarioThe main reason for cork is a warrior - rush like skill right?

If I were to drop Cork till 3rd job, I would leave it at 2 to max out my Sprite instead. It's damage at 11 wouldn't be great anyways, and 2 would be just as good for mob-creation.

CSB is a key skill for TBs, it does the first hit and mob creation. I suggest you max it out but w.e.

It being the first hit is also nt that rekevant. Maxing it would be desireable, obviously, but would you max it in place of Blast?

Your DPS would decrease drasticaly due to the fact that it is missing 9 points into it which is 145% for CSB

I agree here on shockwave being useless, but in 3rd job corkscrew kinda becomes useless as well (at least, so i think. if i'm wrong here someone please correct me) because sharkwave will make the cork>ssk combo rather obselete due to sharkwave's range
