Has anyone ever bought games from steam before?

I'm planning to buy TF2, since it looks like an awesome game, but I was wondering, when you finish the transaction, does steam give you the cd key, link to download it, or send the actual game to you? I've never bought games from steam before soo D;

I got The Orange Box for xbox 360. It owned. But TF2 had 23 players on Live when i got on. No lie.

I haven't, but I have used someone else Steam account, and it all seems pretty easy to use. I gather that all you have to do is enter your payment information, and it links the game to your account. It will automatically download and install everything for you. When you go to another computer (give your account to someone else) all you have to do is sign in and you have access to all your games. The only thing is that you need to have Steam running while playing the game, which isn't too much of a hassle.

For games by Valve, once you purchase the game you're able to download it, then you can play right away. It even updates itself, hohoho.

I've actually downloaded the orange box. What it does is it downloads the game and installs it on your computer, along with authorizing it. You don't have to authorize it at all.
