~_~ Common Equips: Zakum Helm - +17 Luk + 17 Int Horn Tail Necklace with one dragon stone - + 22 Luk + 22 Int Purple Adventurer Cape - +9 matt Crystal Leaf Earings - +3 matt Broken Glasses - +1 LUK, +1 INT TOTAL - +52 matt, +40 LUK [56 and 44, with 4 base INT and LUK] Lukless ideal equips(clean, maximum stats): Bosshunter Gi - +4 LUK, +4 INT Yellow Snowshoes - + 3 INT Esther Shield - + 3 INT (weared with the LUK recieved from zhelm and HT necklace) Flamekeeper Cordon - +8 matt Ele wand 5/6 - +145 matt, +2 INT TOTAL - 165 matt, 4 LUK [221 matt, 48 luk] HighLuk ideal equips(clean, max stats, crafted with max LUK+INT crystals) - build to wear ele staff Blue Czar - +12 INT, +9 LUK Dark Varr Shoes - +9 INT, +7 LUK Maple Magician Shield - +3 INT Blue Elemental Gloves - +10 INT, +10 LUK Ele Staff - +178 matt, +3 INT TOTAL: 215 matt, 26 LUK [271 matt, 70 LUK] Luk ideal equips(clean, max stats, blah blah) - build to wear max level clothes, but stop there Blue Czar - +12 INT, +9 LUK Dark Varr Shoes - +9 INT, +7 LUK Maple Magician Shield - +3 INT Blue Elemental Gloves - +10 INT, +10 LUK Ele Wand - +145 matt, +2 INT Total: 181 matt, 26 LUK [237 matt, 70 LUK] Total Stats: Lukless: 221 matt, 48 LUK HighLuk: 271 matt, 70 LUK NormLuk: 237 matt, 70 LUK Now let's add the stats [1009 stat points i belive] Lukless: +1009 matt HighLuk: +95 LUK(so u can wear ele staff that needs 165 luk), +914 matt NormLuk: +43 LUK(to get a total of 113), +966 matt Equips+Stats: Lukless: 1009+221=1230 matt HighLuk: 914+271=1185 matt NormLuk: 966+237=1237 matt But that's not all!~ LUK also affects a slight bit the magic damage! 4 LUK=0.8 magic LUKLESS has 48 LUK meaning an extra 9 matt[9.6, but nexon allways rounds down, no?] HIGHLUK has 165 LUK meaning an extra 33 matt NORMLUK has 113 LUK meaning an extra 22 matt[22.6, but nexon allways rounds down, no? XD] Grand Total: Lukless=1230+9=1239 matt HighLuk=1185+33=1218 matt NormLuk=1237+22=1259 matt In this perfect-case scenario, Lukless own Luk mages for an whooping 21 matt! And NormLuk own lukless mages for an whooping 20 matt! Wow~ that was unexpected! It's not very reader friendly; i know ~ but the end is all that it matters correct me if i am wrong please :D the surprising truth is, is that the dude with a 17 page(and counting) thread in mage forum is actually right! more or less

luck does not affect magic power just magic acc.
romagia 07/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
the formula from HS sais otherwise ~
fustefan2 Jul 25 2009 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
magic acc is int. Also, you didn't take into account MW. MW has a HUGE affect on low / high luk mages. Also, most mages dont have the 164 staff. 130 is the highest most will get too. This means that that 21matck from the 164 staff is gone. Ofc a 164 staff will pwn the 130 that a lukless has, but how many people have those (and in the element they want, theres 1 in bello by my knowledge and its poison)
Sonicdoragon Jul 25 2009 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
MAX = (Magic *3.3 + Magic*Magic *0.003365 + INT*0.5 ) * Spell / 100 MIN = (Magic *3.3*Mastery *0.9 + Magic*Magic *0.003365 + INT*0.5 ) * Spell / 100 mdef*0.5 reduction on max damage and a mdef*0.6 reduction of min damage. I know that's not the most up-to-date one but i don't see luck being applied to it. @ above: if magic acc is int then why bother putting into int? and at that point whats the point of creating a luckless? edit: also if this was an idealist way of putting the luck are better then luckless then why does the normal luck have so much more funding?

sorry for my nubness, but what is a MW?
InvisoBill 07/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
The fact that people need to map these things out with this much detail and scenarios show that the difference isn't that much either way... to all potential mages reading GO WITH WHAT YOU FEEL it doesn't matter because there will continually be updates that shift this balance of power. I personally chose an f/p because they were unique and not many people chose them but hey turns out f/ps are fastest lvlers in 3rd job so that nice... even if i still like playing them for the class... not the damage or anything like that so please people stop making these lukless vs reg luk threads because in the long run there really is no difference
OnAir 07/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
MW is Maple Warrior.

romagia said: "the formula from HS sais otherwise ~" HS is inaccurate. Look, I can unequip my HT Necklace right now and lose only 22 total magic. If 4* luk was really .8 magic, I'd lose 26~28 points of magic. Luk does NOT influence damage. That is the reason why idiots think luk mages outdamage lukless mages. <_< *Edit: Thought he said 1 luk. Still wrong.
BETABOI101 07/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Luk doesn't affect magic and I have seen various sleepy threads claiming that luk is NOT involved in the formula with the ultimates (Although luk is essential with heal/ various other mage / priest skills). You also forgot to compare base int (Since at lv 164, an ideal lukless will have around 833 base int whereas a reg luk will have about 749 base int with about 84 base luk since even with a zhelm and ht pend, they need the extra luk to wear the reverse/ timeless equips. If you add 233 to the 749 base of a reg luk you'd get about 982 magic while a lukless with 217 added to the 833 yields 1050 magic.)
gamerdude292 07/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
gamerdude292All attempts to compare AP pathways using equipment are pointless, because there is in an infinite number of equipment combinations any luk or lukless Magician could have. What you really need to compare is MATK Scores between Magicians, which allows one to see individual strengths, regardless of level. The formula to calculate your MATK Score is simple: take your total unbuffed (no MW, Meditate, or pots) magic - (your level x 5 + [13 if you're 3rd job, 18 if 4th job]). In English, this formula basically compares the raw equips of a Magician versus another, ignoring level with the subtraction of all base INT opportunities a Magician has had up to that point. It doesn't use LUK, which shows that on average lukless are stronger, but that doesn't mean a well-equipped Luk Magician cannot beat the average lukless. The only conclusion in this age-old debate is that it all comes down to equips, in which case a lukless Magician's equips are easier to find and make, thus creating an average benchmark much higher than that of the average luk Magician.

romagia said: "sorry for my nubness, but what is a MW?" I think this sentence alone invalidates your thread. Also, luk doesn't add damage to any skill besides heal.
romagia 07/26/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
@tugboats im from EMS, and never-ever played GMS... how the hell should i know what MW stands for? =| all equip data is straight from HS @g statue i didn't said it affects magic, i said it affects damage (if i did say it affects magic, my bad ~) the HS formula sais something like (magic*0.8)+(luk/4) multiplicated by something related to spell magic attack, mastery and stuff like that >_> @betaboi i added stat points... @gamerdude that formula is broken; a 3rd job mage would have a lot harder time to get to 100 points then a 4th jobber
megabob10 07/26/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Maple Warrior adds 10% to base stats for an amount of time for your party. Luk has NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER on damage. It's been proven so many times already.
AnasF 07/26/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
AnasFNot sure, but I think the only thing LUK does in terms of damage, is make it more stable. That is, the minimum damage is higher.
