ive seen most of the anime save a couple of episodes. and i liked it. it was good. the characters seemed to have some complex characteristics and qualities. it always kept you interested. and overall, it was pretty good. and by pretty good i mean just okay. last episode was a disappointment. "im the avatar and i can seal your bending." this was the first ive ever even heard of such a thing. and if this was already know to be possible, then the tension of what is aang going to do when he mets the firelord should not have even existed. that last episode felt like it was thrown in there. all in all though it was okay...however, does it really deserve such a praise. i could compile a list of animes that could surpass that. the reason i made this thread was because i was on youtube today and im reading comments for the avatar movie video. and i seems to me a lot of ppl value this anime to their highest regard. (at this point, i am using the term anime loosely, only because it does use that style of drawing). maybe its me, but the praise seems to be overrated. dont get me wrong, its good, but its not that good. what do you think?

I don't know why people like it either...It's pretty decent but it's not that great. The original storyline was pretty heard of too, it's not the first time we see a 'legendary *anything related to the anime* born every 1000 years'

I liked it a lot, it was different than most shows on nickelodeon

I think Avatar is an amazing "anime." I looked forward to watch it everyday. The characters are unique, the plot is interesting and sometimes it's just so amusing, like when Aang was a student in the fire country and he would have dance parties. Alot of my friends liked it, and it was the kinda anime you could talk about to the "Cool" kids in school, cause let's face it, Naruto doesn't give the best reputation to it's watchers. I give it a lot of regard, and although the ending was a little bleh, I think the show as a whole picked up it's slack. It was well written, well animated, and just one of my favourite shows.

the ending was a deus ex machina, if i'm using that term correctly. you're totally right, the ending was pretty apparent of being rushed, and it's good, but not to the point where it's the greatest thing ever. And don't take youtube comments seriously. no one ever does

Ending was terrible. Monks don't get girls, he should have been like, 'Hey, I have to save the world, I can't be with you Katara...' Also, since he's the "master" of all 4 elements, I don't see why he ran away from Ozai for the majority of the episode... >_>

it's the only anime i can stand besides pokemon and sailor moon. Anime makes me wanna punch babies im sorry. But yeah it had a certain appeal. I liked that.

Aroe said: "I liked it a lot, it was different than most shows on nickelodeon" well, the thing is, im guessing that most ppl like it because they watch nick. they dont really watch other animes and nick just gave them one. so this compared to other nick shows or anything in the kiddie trios ( ch 47,48 and 49 is CN, disney and nick respectively) was extremely good which i do agree on this part. i mean you can like it even if you watched other animes...but its not that big

Anime-influenced animation is never that great. it's the only anime i can stand besides pokemon and sailor moon. Anime makes me wanna punch babies im sorry. But yeah it had a certain appeal. I liked that.
