Training dilemma

People keep saying that JNPT is better exp/hr than typhon. How about consider these factors? **I'm a 105+ ranger. -Newt parties are hard to find -It is VERY rare to get a SE'er in your party. -People sometimes like to brb while training @ newts -Risk of dying is higher. (bottom) (looting a drop) Now for typhons. -I actually make PROFIT off typhons. I know it sounds stupid, but my special training technique is pwnzors. -It takes about 2~10 seconds to get a huge mob. -I sometimes get blown off and my mob gets ruined. -Ideal spot for 2xing Odds of finding a good newt party or even just finding a newt party < Typhon soloing. Discuss. Summary: Notify people the consequences of training at a certain location instead of purely shouting out %/hr. Point is, wouldn't the time soloing typhons make up for the 'additional exp' that JNPT gives since you have to spend time looking for one. Hell, spending 30+ mins looking for a JNPT...

only JNPT if ur 105+, its hard to get in a pt untill after 110 if ur lvl 98 like it says then u cant party at newties, you will gain no exp from others so stick with typhons like you said its hard to get in a pt and typhons>solo newties

When typoning I have to pay attention or I get blown off... with Newties, my hawk just stuns them! I watch a movie or something and just jam a quarter to make me strafe endlessly, pot and move around a bit once in a while so the "stop botting" thingy doesn't kick in. I find that you barely die at Newties... Looting money is just plain stupid. Scrolls and Skill books on the other hand, you just spam pots and run. Having a pet would be best to get money... I didn't really like typhons on my sniper. Especially not now they have fixed the "Fall-Down?-Use-MTS"-glitch. xD

Newt parties are really dependent on your level and well, luck. Don't expect a party whatsoever if you're an archer and below lvl 105. If you're making a profit at typhons, you may be doing something wrong. Or, you need to tell me more about your 'technique.' Botting at Newties really isn't that dangerous when you have enough hp to survive a Nest Golem and gain enough experience training there. Looting is a hassle though, I agree. Typhons are very expensive for us and at a higher level, the cost of training there is just not worth it. Also, if you get a good party at Newties, the exp is AMAZING. In the end, I'd just typhon til 105, then newt from then on out.

All you have to do is set a Pet Food to a hot key, and when you're knocked off, just spam that button until you fall underneath the middle platform (where you first appear to Typhon). Works like a charm! (And it's saved me a TON of time). Because I've had knowledge of this since the day I started Typhoning, I'm STILL Typhoning at level 113. EDIT: I should state that when I say "until you fall underneath the middle platform", I mean WALK to the center of the map until you fall underneath the platform. (While still spamming the Pet Food button)

I'm a 105+ ranger btw, and it seems as though people don't want me in their party. I use about 100 pizzas and 25 ~ 100 Barb Elixirs at typhons/hr. No, I am not doing anything wrong at typhons. I gain about 1 ~ 2.5% / 5 mins at typhons.

I never trained long enough to actually find a JNPT so I stayed at Typhons until lvl 115. The solo experience there was better than solo at newts.

This thread sums up what I was feeling. At 105 I didn't see the point of newties. Solo at newties seemed much worse than typhons at 105. Will someone clarify what an IDEAL party at newties is like?

Well considering Windia's large 4th job Archer population, I almost never had the problem of not having SE. Also, after being in a newtie party you should buddy the people in the party so you know some people that newtie, and it's much easier to get a party together. If you're any good at potting (and your internet is half decent) you shouldn't be dying at newties (unless they 1hit you, then you should stay in the middle anyways). Well the problem with typhons is that you can almost NEVER brb :P I'll be honest, I brb at newties sometimes. Usually if it's more than 1-2 min I'll just leave the party and tell them to reinvite me when I get back. If your main problem is FINDING a newtie party, then just join a bunch during 2x, buddy everyone you meet, become friends and bam! whenever you feel like newting, just ask your buddies and you'll probably find one. If it's anything like my BL people ask me to newtie all the time.

Easier said than done. xD

Ideal newt party is Top: Marksman/warrior middle:Low level archer, far rangers BOttom:marksman/archer with 21+ hawk/BM but if you have a bishop and a warrior and yourself, the warrior takes bottom right, bishop takes top and bottom, and you're still stuck at the bottom left spamming

Some ppl slack off, and I feel a good chunk of my exp goes to the 4th job bowman. Infact, I probably make more exp when not in a party simply because I don't have to worry about these external factors. I want to newtie since I'm so tired of typhons, but to be honest, standing in place and sniping is not my idea of training. I would rather jump around and use multiple skills. In fact, sometimes I train on elder wraiths, or nightshadows just because they are more fun, yes I die at some point if the server lags, but it is much more enjoyable.
