Are pole arms seriously THAT more effective?

For a dexless spearman, who is gonna use: Maple Impaler, (maybe green skis), then Maple Soul Spear(Which, btw, why can't you buy in the mts? ), the maple impaler has a fast speed, while the pole arms have a normal speed. Although the pole arms will hit harder cause of the over-head ratio, wouldn't the maple impaler make it up a little bit with it's Fast speed? It can't really be that muc more effective with the impaler attacking more time than it. This is just a hypothesis, idrk if I'm wrong or not. :P

The 3:2 Ratio basically kills all Spears in 2nd.

There is no point in being an all-out Spearman. Since FA is pointless for the Spearman class altogether, why not dump those 30 points into maxing or getting 19 polearm mastery and rest into booster? EDIT: Above is correct also

The pure spear road thingy isn't really regretted by many, however going hybrid REALLY speeds your training up. Polearm's second job training is amazing compared to spear. I'll admit that >.>

It's not only faster, it has lower atk - I believe Impaler is 65, Scorpio is 68. In 2nd job there's about a 10% difference in damage between Spear and Polearm, and the difference in weapon speed (Normal Polearm, Fast Spear) is only about 5%. So that leaves another 5% strongr that has to be done in w.atk - for example, a 85 Impaler vs. 79 Scorpio.

The speed of impaler will truly make up for it in a very very very long run, however. you are not fighting a monster that you kill in 100 hits everyday right ? (except for bosses) Thus the the effect is sooo small , and too micro to be noticed to be said to make up with the polearm's Greater attack but slower speed.

Power=/=Speed, it depends on the situation, and that's why people don't just say POWER>SPEED in all caps.
