Are Heroes wanted as attackers for Zakum?

I'm just wondering if heroes are useful for bossing in general. I would like to go to Zakum as an attacker some day and I can't see why they wouldn't be useful if they have maxed combo/Brandish and maybe some points in stance.

I don't see why not. Although survivability which warriors excel at isn't an issue with a softcore damage boss like Zakum, Heroes are still one of the strongest in terms of DPS after Corsairs, Bowmasters, and Night Lords. Even then, Heroes are superior during the arms stage, as they hit 3 at a time while the others hit only 1. They're great at many other bosses too, such as Big Foot and Horntail, where they have a higher rate of survival due to better HP.

Some ppl take Heros as attkers o-o But only if you're equipped well otherwise NLs would do better than Heros

Heroes have better survival, can attack 3 arms or zakum's body + summons at once, get stance in later levels to let you spam your brandish, yeah they are accepted. Hell even I'm paid to attack at zakum in this level. Go level up some more until your brandish starts dishing out real damage.

Heroes are definitely wanted. I don't see why you even doubted they were. In terms of Solo DPS they're still in the top 5. When buffed up with SE and SI, they're in the top 3, outdamaging even bowmasters. So yeah, Heroes are definitely wanted.

Damage really depends on equips. Anyway a Hero is bound to have a high chance of survival: who would you get, a guy who dies in one hit but does 500k damage in 10 seconds... or a guy who does a decent 400K in 10 seconds and dies in 2-3 hits. My numbers were random haha. In boss runs like Zakum and Horntail, the range classes sorta have to go at a high level unless they HP wash or bloodbuild (waste of DEX or LUK so the Warrior can have more STR). I'd say Hero + BM is a good combination. Hero pins boss & spams brandish, BM practically makes the boss 100% pinned with Hurricane =P as for the little mobs, AR/Inferno & Puppet on the other side. Yes, Hero's are good in normal bossing and boss runs (look at Pink Bean =P). I'd say Hero's are the best boss soloers because many ranged classes say that they "solo'd a boss" while they in fact did it with HB, meaning they gain help from a DK so it is therefore not a solo -.- Hero's can efficiently kill bosses alone. It's not power which makes a good bosser, it's efficiency.

But I've seen both ranged and melee do it (a certain Pally used HB to 'solo' BF *cough*Kira*cough*). But there are many bosses that I can solo fine without HB, there are very few we can't take a hit from at 120+ and few of those aren't the easy-pin-downs (like Anego). xD But a lot of classes are more efficient in their own way and sometimes it's hard to balance them out. Like a Pally can KO Pianus much quicker than a Shad, but a Shad uses way fewer HP pots. How are ya gonna weigh pot consumption vs killing speed? xD Edit: @TS: If you're worried about getting into Zak, just go with your friends. I've been Zak'ing since 105 and my DPM is nowhere near great. xD

Mhm, during boss rush pq I was in a party with a dk, bowmaster, 2 night lords, and arch mage. when the dk died at pianus, all the ranged attackers died along with him, leaving me and the arch mage taking down pianus by ourselves.

It's not always HB either, sometimes they'll get something like SE or SI or both before doing it. That isn't a solo either, you're using another classes buff (Unless you casted the buff from the character, it doesn't count as a solo in my book.) No offense to you, but the biggest culprit I see of this are Nightlords showing off their boss soloing time... while having SE. OT; I've been invited on Runs with my Hero and my hero is only 120. I'm sure you'll get in and do much better than mine currently can. So you'll be wanted and you'll do decent damage, especially at Zak since you can hit more arms than BM's and NL's.
