Since this is probably the last thing from me, here's a "little" response to those who comment in the Basil Con saying, "lol all asians, I feel bad for the white guy" First of all, how ignorant are you to seriously care? Do you specifically discriminate against other races and would rather be friends with people due to their skin color over their personality? Get with the times, it's 2009, not the 1900's. What does skin color matter to anyone? Does skin color dictate how a person would act? What their talents and skills are? Should they dictate how they get along with others and who their friends should be? No. Second, get out of your tiny little room some time and notice that different regions have different demographics. Just because you're in an environment with mostly black people, or white people, or whatever race, doesn't mean it's the same EVERY WHERE ELSE. Honestly, what's the point of saying, "Wow, so many _______"? Or even stating race, for that matter? Regardless of skin color, physical traits, and so on, every single human being can be cruel, unjust, generous, kind, helpful, ETC. If Ciel has finally ranted, then I don't even know what to say anymore. To potential responses: R: *insert any stereotype* A: *insert stereotype of Responder's race* R: I hate ______, they're disgusting, (adding in more unnecessary adjectives). A: You can hate all you want, it's your choice, but being outward and exhuming such hate is bad on your part. R: I have a Freedom of Speech. A: You're right, you do, but I'd think that before you figured you had that, you would've had some manners. R: It's my opinion. A: My opinion could be that every person who believes that the color pink represents females is a Nazi supporter, since it is the Nazi regime who dictated that blue is masculine and pink is feminine. Doesn't make it any less stupid now, does it?

Im amazed.. technically you can be racist.. only if you wished to join KKK But anyways stating this should shut most White people mouths for a while... (im not discriminating white people for that matter, you should know that other cultures make fun of others too but in the society the world lives in its mostly White people)

Heck, comedians ride on ridiculous racist stereotypes all the time. But to actually point out a race, and then "feel sorry" for whoever isn't the majority? I can't say I agree, even with the past, it shouldn't be carried on to the present. I don't know what the race of the people who left such a comment, and really, I could care less. Regardless of their race, they're ignorant. And that's their mind, not their skin.

ryannosaurI don't know how much this relates to the thread, but here goes. i think racial comments and epithets should be the last thing we worry about, especially here. Sure we try to ignore racism in society but the fact is that people are always most comfortable with their own race. have you ever noticed at school how many of the asians stick together, the whites, the blacks, and so on? but it's something no one ever brings up because it's already integrated into our very own culture. sure i don't like it. it's just something no one can really control, because race and racism are just there...apparent to everyone. so there comes a point where you just have to shrug your shoulders and ignore it, especially on an internet forum where posts are for the most part unregulated. and i wouldn't feel sorry for the 'white guy' but that wouldn't that person feel a bit awkward? I don't know if that makes me a terrible person for feeling so, and i hate it too, but that's just how i see it for some unclear reason.

I just think it's amazing how many Asians are in other places (not including Asia). There's not many around here.

It's on topic, and it's something I know already, except the thing is, the way some people are attached to their own race is in the subconscious. To openly say it means one recognizes it and does nothing about it. I assume, from how you said you didn't like it either, that you may not mind hanging with other races. I certainly couldn't care less about hanging out with other races, since I see no reason for physical appearances to say yay or nay to a friend. See, what most people don't realize is that the city I'm in, where the white guy is also in, has quite a population of Asians. If he felt awkward around Asians, then he wouldn't do well in the city, let alone his friends who are also Asian. I can't recall correctly, but I think we called him an "egg" (white on the outside, yellow on the inside lol). Though I can admit I'm a twinkie (yellow on the outside, white on the inside) @PhillyFresh Oh serious? I thought I saw, some time ago, that there was a stickied thread about Quitting threads. I think Shroomy said that too =| @lettucing I can agree, and even so, the Asian population here is growing with Mandarin speakers. (I'm Canto, and I did a paper on how Canto was dying off...it was sorta saddening). It all has to do with history and how some events affected the immigration of people in North America.

lupefiascoI still can't think of why this thread was made when you could just simply ignore those who said what ever about the basil meeting. And I haven't personally heard anything about it in awhile so why did you suddenly make this?
