This isn't free but for $20 (Maybe less now idk) you can get Counter Strike: Souce which is basically the most fun i've played. I play it everyday actually. Another good FPS I also played which is FREE is Soldier Front There's also combat arms but I feel like SF gives the player better control on their movement/weapons.

try counterstrike source,costs like 5 dollars ,but worth it since it has like dozens of mods for different gameplay
