The Complete Wind Archer Skill Guide Nearly all Archer guides apply to Wind Archers as well, you should check them out at the top of our humble Bowman forum. Greetings Basilians! Kevvl here with the Complete Wind Archer Guide. I figured hey, since Cygnus are coming out soon, Basil needs an in-depth AGF style guide for it. This guide is loosely modeled after the AGF's project - Archer Skill Guide. Initially I was planning to put Wind Archers in that guide, but decided that due to character count issues, it would be easier to simply make this. Like most Bowman Guides, this article is not meant to be read start to finish but as a reference. Like the Archer Skill Guide, this thread attempts to avoid using bias as much as possible (although less so), by explaining why a specific skill build is necessary due to its advantages and disadvantages. Remember, this is not, by any means, a complete list of the possible skill builds. There exists nearly an infinite number of ways to distribute your skills. This is simply a listing of the most recommended. Last Updated: July 18th, 2009 Table of Contents: First Job Enter The Power Of The Wind Archer • Critical First Build • Double Shot First Build Second Job The Straight Path • FA - do's and don't's • Standard Wind Archer Build • Booster and Soul Arrow Early • FA Build Third Job The Results of Dedication • Why Strafe is a bad idea • Standard Wind Archer Build • Albatross First Build • Strafe First Build Appendix • Differences between Wind Archers and Archers. • In Depth Analysis of all Wind Archer Exclusive Skills • Damage Calculations • Closing ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Job Enter The Power Of The Wind Archer Critical First Build Level 10 - 1 Wind Sprite or 1 Double Shot Level 11 - 1 Wind Sprite (1) or 1 Double Shot (1), 2 Critical Level 12~17 - 3 Critical (20) Level 18~23 - 3 Double Shot (19) Level 24 - 1 Double Shot (20), 2 Eye of the Amazon Level 25~26 - 3 Eye of the Amazon (8) Level 27~29 - 3 Focus (9, recommended) or 3 Wind Sprite Level 30 - 1 Focus (10, recommended), 2 Wind Sprite (3) or 3 Wind Sprite (13) End Results: Max Double Shot Max Eye of the Amazon Max Critical Shot 0 (or Max) Focus 3 (or 13) Wind Sprite Explanation: With Double Shot's minimum damage updates, it's really better to raise Critical first after 1 point in Double Shot. This is cheaper and stronger than raising double shot. Wind Archers are really no-nonsense when it comes to skills, there's not as much variety between finalized builds as there is with standard Archers. 1 point is put in Wind Sprite early on to keep mobs of 3 at bay, then Double Shot and Critical are maxed. Wind Sprite's range is shorter than a Wind Archer with maxed Eye, so that is left for later. Finally, the remaining points are placed into Focus or Wind Sprite. Focus is recommended as Wind Sprite

Kevvl said: " You can make 3 Cygnus on the same account if you don't buy any slots." Yeah, I still gotta delete my abandoned Brawler and sell all the stuff on my mule, but if I can make more than 1 cygnus, deleting my abandoned Brawler will be enough.

Cygnus don't take the same slots as Adventurers. If you have 3 Adventurers made, you can make 3 Cygnus without deleting any.

Nahhh this is easy stuff that anyone can figure out, if they do their homework. Still, pretty chill guide.

I updated the guide to include a Strafe First build, but I'm not too sure on it. Any suggestions?

I dunno dude, if one of the main places that you will be training at from 70-80 is windraiders, magnum shot is really helpful to kill them across the platforms, as is maxed albatross. Level 3 magnum already deals twice the amount of 21 strafes damage %, and for albatross to be effective in anyway, it has to be max. That way you will be transforming 2/3 of the time you are training. Thats just me though

While the ending may be the same, the beginning is quite different. This build is for those who wish to be extremely powerful for a short duration of time, then relatively weaker afterward, kind of like training a Marauder. Magnum shot is maxed first to maximize mobbing potential, then Albatross. Until Albatross is maxed it's best not to touch Wind Shot as Strafe IS faster, making it better for taking out stragglers at level 1. After Magnum Shot and Albatross are maxed, you can start work on Wind Shot or Arrow Rain. This build has Wind Shot first, but they really are interchangeable depending on if you'd rather train at high spawn mobbing maps or medium spawn maps. After these skills are all maxed, points are saved. The moment you get Hurricane, dump all the points you have into it. You can then add Puppet to help with single targets before saving points for Bow Expertise. Bow Expertise gets maxed the moment you get it, and then Puppet is finished off. Finally, the remaining points can go anywhere, although Strafe is probably your best bet. I was compelled to point that out. Nice guide nonetheless. Edit: I personally don't see the need to have a Strafe First Build. You might as well add it, say you don't recommend it, and shut up anyone asking for it.
