What does "this" mean?

I see "this" all the time in threads. I usually follows a post that cleverly answers the thread's question. Someone quotes it, then says "this". Does that just mean that is the best answer there is going to be?

It's basically a stupid way to say "I agree to what I am quoting"

This means someone agrees with the quoted person.

It means the person agrees with the said statement

It shows somebody is too lazy to write their own feelings/expressions so they quote someone.

Its sort of a mechanism that basilers have made up, that make them seem more "apparent/pronounced" in a thread. It would be the same if you won a debate in a flame war, posted a clever post, quoted someone who was stupid and yelled at them or used QFT on a quote. Its just what people do.

It's used to prevent countless Basilers from having to type out countless different ways of typing the same thing. What's the point of typing the same thing out again when someone just said it better than you could have or took the words right from your head?
