Why are Arch Mages So Disrespected?

Hey guys. I can't figure something out. Why are us arch-mages so disrespected by other classes? It makes no sense. People constantly say they are boring, weak, and pretty much nobody likes them 'till we selling them leeches and ksing their enemies, and then they try to take advantage of us. How come? I mean, come on. We are Incredibly fun to play on. I swear I have never met an arch mage or bishop that said "Quit your mage,4th job sucks epically". Every single last one of them I met said that it is totally worth it, and unless you play 3 years to make it there, keep it. On the other hand, I am constantly seeing people say that arch mages suck and are boring. Weak? Are you Kidding me? We and the marksman are the only job capable of reaching the damage cap without boosts from other classes, and arch mages exceed because we do it multiplied by 15. That means about 3million damage overall in 1 hit. I know we aren't good at bossing with you guys, but none of you would without your precious NL's, and your precious NL's wouldn't live without hb and a Bishop. What really ticks me off is that you guys absolutely <3 bishops. They have heal, dispell, and holy symbol so you choose to respect them and hate us just so you can get easier exp and not die? That doesn't sound too fair to me. Every single rant I've heard from about arch mages has been from someone who didn't even reach 3rd on a mage. We could probably do better boss runs like zakum if we got a bunch of us and went out. Just spam Blizzard and Meteor, and over 100k damage on each arm, etc per millisecond( exaggerated, dont go "Millisecond?O_O" , cause like 20 people spam at once. I'm not saying you guys are evil, just saying I think you should respect us more. Thanks for reading, and no flames please. I will read and answer all questions. @ cursedaggers. Yes thats your opinion, but that is not at all what we do. Thats what we do while selling leech. otherwise we us all skills combos, such as Ice demon, Chain lightning while ifrit hits due to super effectiveness of ice demon. @ Alexis. We do deserve, aswell as every other class making it to 4th job. Give me one good reason we dont deserve? Edit: Oops, sorry alexis. Misread yours. They do deserve some respect, just not much because they pretty much all leech. @ Hardballer. You have obviously been playing your mage very, very wrongly. Arch mages can spam blizzard by choice, but we don't have to. We can go around training the kms way, and it is extremely fun. I have no idea where you got your weird ideas, but you obiviously did not have a mage and are lying, or never made it to 4th job. Before 4th is indeed boring, which is why the name is "arch mages", not mages or wizards.

Noone ever said you had to sell leech, there are plenty of other ways nd leech is just one of the ways about it

Mages are boring, mine is very boring. It's because of the NLC pots that things are the way they are. The other versions don't have our pots so they train with CL ifrit and ID for ice amges and FD elquines and paralyze for FPs...and bishops run around buffing

We're not disrespected. Stop with these threads, PLEASE ._. And I guess you didn't meet a lot of archmages cause I personally think spamming blizz all day long is boring (I still do that thouh cause it's the fastest way of training). I'm being accepted to a lot of zakum runs too, tyvm. Sure I don't do as much damage but it's all about connections, so don't blame it on your job :/ And you think it's so "easy" to hit 199k, you make threads about it every other day. Let's see you get the equips and stuff to hit that much. At level 151, I only hit around 130k on fire weak monsters. If you had a job that could heal you, give you more exp, make you not waste time or money on all cures and would be able to resurrect you if you die, you'd probably choose them over the other job that doesn't have any buffs and can only deal crappy damage (compared to other jobs in that level), even if it's "not fair" or whatever. Archmages aren't good at bossing. Face it. We can train more efficiently, so we aren't as good as other classes at bossing - each class has its own pros and cons, and for archmages, training > bossing. Oh, and if this thread is about to become a flame war or whatever about how bishops are perfect - what do you know, they are. That's why kMS are trying to nerf them ATM, if you didn't notice. The release of temple of time, which is basically evening out the training speed of other jobs compared to bishops. The skill updates, that contributed to every job EXCEPT for bishops. And "before 4th is indeed boring" is a matter of OPINION. I found 3rd job reallyyyyy fun.

i wanna have a bishop but i dont have enough motivation and everyone wants a bishop in their party at higher levels... i actually dont see anyone be disrepectful to them anyway

Bishops are not disrespected, They actually are useful. But when you get kill stolen by a melee class 30 levels below you, that means your class sucks. *coughcough,Mages,cough*

Yea, I thought it was kinda weird because before I/L mages and clerics used to be pretty evenly played, maybe with more I/L mages than clerics. When 4th job came out, everyone suddenly started going cleric O.o Personally, I think it's because of the reason stated by that guy that was talking about MS's problem's a while ago. Ultimate's were never meant to be spammed. They were supposed to be only used with infinity, and the cheap NLC pots changed this, which made the ultimate's 4th job mages main move, which spawned leeching, and made (supposedly) bishops have the same amount of firepower as archmages.

Yeah....after reading lukinator's better explanation of why NLC affects the mage way of way training it makes arch mages look useless compared to bishops.

I like my arch mage. If you don't like it, then don't play it. Don't complain to me about how you wasted your time playing a character for 120+ levels only to find that it sucks. Boo hoo.

If I chew bread and water in jail for a day for quoting this, it's still worth it. I'll however restate it in a way that is more intelligent. Those who know me, would not insult me. Those who do not know me, have no ground to judge me. This at no time means that we shan't be judged by our friends, just that when they do tell us to wise up, it will not be with an insult, but a wise word... or as close as your own circle of friends gets.
