Every half an hour or so I have lag that can last up to 5 minutes and sometimes d/cs me. During this time, I can't hit monsters, talk and other people cannot see me move and I cannot switch maps. This would be regular lag but I can see other people moving around, talking as well as killing monsters. I am pretty sure my internet connection is working because I can use firefox and see other players move in real-time. As you can imagine this gets extremely annoying when it lags me in the middle of something ex.pq (ppl are yelling at me to "GO IN THE PORTAL").I am currently using Windows Vista. I am an admin and it still lags me even when I have no other windows open. I have reinstalled MS many times. My computer is not infected with malware. Any possible solutions? Speeding up the Maplestory Process does nothing for me .

run in compatibility mode (windows xp sp2), to do this: right click on maplestory icon, select properties, run in compatibility mode, select window xp sp 2, press OK) also, if that doesn't work, try running maplestory as an administrator by right clicking on the icon, selecting "Run as admin" if those 2 options aforementioned don't work, download gamebooster here: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

Could be your internet. Otherwise, I'd agree with the first person. Better video card, 2 GB RAM, and more Hard drive space. Defrag your computer. Run your anti-virus programs. Try that other person's link too: Gamebooster. It does help.

It may be your internet connection or RAM itself. I remember that I had problems, a few years ago, and I could not play CounterStrike properly because of extreme lag problems. I was able to fix this problems by researching things that I would never usually research. I learned about proper RAM requirements for certain games and how to fix internet connection problems. You could also follow the advice that I have already given to someone today. It is as follows: "From the information you have given, I detect that it is an internet connection problem. Are you connected to your router/modem via ethernet cable or wireless? Try connecting your computer to your router/modem with an ethernet cable. Usually the direct computer<>router connection will have more connection speed and sent/received packets will be much more than a wireless connection. If your laptop does not seem to have problems with a direct connection to your router, then it's definitely a connection problem. My suggestion is that you reset your router/modem manually (simple on/off) or take a more technical approach to it, and fix it via accessing it through your computer's web browser. Go to your web browser, simply type in [default IP address.] (Basil won't let me type it, so I suggest you just google it. (google default IP address, and you will get it. The one you find on Google will work, because after all it's a default.) in the address bar (without the brackets and no www). Hit enter, and you will be taken to your router's information and setup page. I don't think I will be able to guide you through the whole process, granted I don't know what router you have. So, I can leave you with this. From that page, navigate yourself over to your router's Broadband Link and Diagnostics page. Make the necessary adjustments and reset the router. (you will lose internet connection during that time, so don't panic). After the reset, your internet connection should be fine and much faster." For further help, please give details and specs. of your computer. Such as; processor, RAM, video card, etc. *If your problem persists, please feel free to contact me via basil mail. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
