Curious about RAM

I'm just curious about what you all think about the various brands for RAM. Please list your favorite RAM brands from best to worst (Corsair, Crucial, PNY, G.Skill, OCZ, Patriot, Mushkin, Transcend, etc.) and give some reasons why you ordered them that way, like if one has better customer service or has a reputation for lasting long. I ask this because I need to build a couple of computers soon that will use DDR3 and they are all about the same price with similar timings and voltages. Other than the brand, I dont see much difference between them all, so I have a tough time deciding which to get. Personally, I've always used Corsair, but I wonder about other peoples' experiences with the other brands.

In all truth and honesty, there really isnt much of a difference. Ram isnt actually made by those companies, its actually made by 5 other companies, ( 1 of which i can never remember the name of ) Hynix, Samsung, Qimonda, Micron and another company. Somestimes there is high performance ram that comes out that overclocks really well, such as the Buffalo Firestix, and the Micron D9s, but for the most part, pretty much all ram is the same. Just make sure you get a brand with a lifetime warranty and you shouldnt really have any trouble. My personals faves are Corsair, G.Skill, OCZ and Mushkin. A-Data has done pretty well too. I have used other brands, and pretty much all of them work well. But what separates them for me, is how well they overclock.

Now memory wise, it doesn't matter what brand you buy. Its all the same. Like cereal.

well... i cant really have favs since i havent use all of em, but from what i've seen, kingston, corsair, g skill, ocz.. a few others... cant rmbr

As soon as you get into the reputable ram companies, there isn't much difference in the bargain ram. The best high-end ram in my opinion comes from Corsair. However, this is ram that's usually 3x the price of the normal stuff.

Ive only used one brand so I cant really tell you, lol. (OCZ ddr2-800) I dont think anyone here has used ALL the brands they listed >:D

I've always used Corsair, too. I've never seen any reason to desire a different brand.

I've only ever used G Skill. Seemed to work...
