| Attention: Do not be alarmed by the huge amount of text! This is a collection of short writings: Fahla said: "Wow, those were really, really good. For those of you who haven't read them, read a few, they're pretty cool." Yos5 said: "Wow those were actually good. Some of them were pretty moving. Good job. " ---- This is a special edition . There are no new additions, but instead I have chosen about half of them to put in a poll to find out which are Basils favorites. Vote for whichever collection has your favorite story in it. As you read through my anthology you will find many different snippets of life, each with its own story to tell. It may seem like a big read at first, but it -just as life does- begins to take flight and you hardly notice all the time that has passed. Pick and read only a few at first, but youll find yourself addicted thereafter. Youll essentially be addicted to life, and whats better than that? Thanks to all of those who are reading all of my writings regularly and supporting them through all of it. ~Enjoy~ Table of Contents [s=/forum/1117285/#1]1: The Pear, Frigidity, The Mug, Paper Pencil Art, Misery Loves, Candle[/s] [s=/forum/1117285/#2]2: Window to the World, Sunshine Martyr, Grace, Sound in the dark, Sanguine Darkness, Hand of Want[/s] [s=/forum/1117285/#3]3: The Tree, The Orchard, Twisted, Luster, Polaroid, Buckle[/s] [s=/forum/1117285/#4]4: Chirp, Aisle of White, Prestige, Simply Naught, Plaything, Broken[/s] Collection 1 The Pear Running to the top of the rolling hill was a dog. It was a red-golden color with its hair blowing in the wind. The skies above it were blue; the pastures upon which it ran were green. Come the zenith, the dog stopped. Looking back, the dog saw the little boy, awkwardly running toward his dog. The dog hopped around, basking in his excitement of the boy running at him. He ran behind the boy, nipping at his heels, the boy ran faster. The pair of friends came to a small tree at the top where the dog had been moments before. The boy was damp with sweat, his shirt stuck to his body. His thick, black hair was soaked to the point that if he wanted to fill a cup he could do so with a quick twist of his hair. The friends lay down near the tree, exhausted from the run they had just had. The wind picked up once more and began to make the boys sweat evaporate. They rested for about an hour, and then the boy got up and picked a pear from the tree. He bit into the soft fruit, his hunger instantaneously satisfied. Breaking off a part of the pear, he handed it to his dog. The boy got up from the ground after his meal and stretched out his tired muscles. He picked another two pears from the tree and stuffed them in his pocket for later. The boy then began to walk towards the now setting sun, back to his home. The dog also then got up and closely trailed him. As they were walking, a pear fell from the boys pocket. It hit the ground and bounced once, just a fraction of an inch off the ground. The dog sm |
