I know that a cardio workout is something that "gets your heart pumping" and burns calories. But does it have to be aerobics (like running, jumping-jacks, etc)? Like sometimes I get really nervous and my heart beats really fast... would that be considered cardio? Could I possibly burn calories from just being nervous? Also, sometimes when I'm playing certain video games I get really excited and my heart beats really fast in the excitement. Could that be considered cardio when all I'm really doing is pressing buttons on a controller and reacting naturally to visual & aural stimuli? Can I burn calories from just doing that? • Already tried Google • No dimo is available

I guess you can, I think stress helps burn calories too. Avoid the colours red and yellow though, they induce hunger where blue doesn't

ANYTHING that makes your heart beats faster burns more calories than when its slower.

It will help, but not as much as actual exercise. First of all, excitement in video games only happens in bursts, and not constant. You also get other benefits from actual cardio, like stamina, because the workout SHOULD be constant.

Getting your heart rate up that way isn't necessarily cardio....you got to be doing something physical. Besides your heart rate only goes up a little in those situations and for brief periods of time.

You can burn calories by beating your head against the wall. That doesn't mean it's the best way to work off calories.
