Did i do the right thing ?

Ok, so my older brother (24 years old) is really bad. I mean REALLY bad. He does, drugs and steals my moms money and lies and does all these things to upset my WHOLE family. My mom constantly screams at him and tells him off but he doesnt listen . He still does drugs (heroine) and steals money. So today, he drove me out to the store . (it was night time) And he pulls up infront of a four wheel drive. Gets out this tool and proceeds to take the back up wheel from the car. You know the emergency tire on the back of a four wheel drive? He did it right infront of me So i told him to put it back or ill tell someone . But he thinks what his doing is good . Just because he will get $100 for every tire. The next day, after i threatened him , he does it again and brought home another four tires that he had stolen. I got really angry and i called the cops. They came and he got arrested and charge for thievery . Now his awaiting his trial. My mom doesnt know that i told the cops She just think someone else told him in. Now im thinking is this the right thing too do? I mean his been causing all this grief in the family And the cops want me to go out court as an eye witness if i do his going in jail for sure . Should i do it? EDIT: He doesnt know i was the one who told the cops i asked the cops to remain 'anonymous' thats why im feeling a bit guilty now .

I would've done it right away. Just because you're family doesn't mean you don't have the power to call the police/cops. Good thing to do.

If you did it I'm pretty sure it was the right thing. The only reason you would have done that was because you thought it was the right thing to do. If you thought it was the right thing then it was the right thing. We as basilers can only do so much to help. Our opinion could be different then yours.
