Char to make cygnus useless or not?

After I make a cygnus can I still use the character I used to make the cygnus to its full extent w/o anything happening or me losing anything such as advantages or w/e? Or does it become completely useless?

u can use any character you want and nothing will happen

You can still use the char, but you get the advantage of having a higher level 'Blessing of the Sprite' if you level your Cygnus (Every 10 level your Cygnus games, you get another level in Blessing of the Sprite).
