| Hello everyone, I have been thinking about capping my STR lately. The main problem that has arose is that I want to earn my ZHelm, unlike most people who just buy one. Therefore, I only have the STR benefits of other equips, which I will now list: -Dark Linex with 2 STR -Spiegelman's Necklace with 1 STR -Dark Elf Shoes with 1 STR Currently my base STR is 72, and it is 76 with my equips, enough to equip my Hinkel (I only recenty got Dark Elf Shoes) However, at level 80, I will need 85 STR, which means I must get 9 more from equips. I am thinking of obtaining the following equips: -A STR PAC (I used to have one, but I sold it) -Maybe a Horus's Eye with 3 STR (I already have 20 Marbles, but MPQ is so slow and boring) -Possibly switching to a STR Pris (Level 80 Overall), and trying to obtain 15 DEX on it to not lose out on any damage. Assuming I have time to get a Horus' Eye by level 80 (Level 76 right now with 20 marbles), I will need 6 more STR. I would buy a STR PAC in a second, except that I only have 33m on me right now, and there has been a crazy inflation. I could also raise my STR, if I find out that 75 or 80 is a fine cap. I am thinking of settling on a Nisrock (needing 105 STR) for my end-game bow, though i might choose to raise my DEX after that for a Timeless Weapon. By that time, I will try my best to obtain a ZHelm, though I may have to stick with a worse weapon until I get one. I will probably use a STR PAC until I obtain said ZHelm, and then use a DEX one. Here are what I think will be my End-game equips giving STR: -ZHelm with 15 STR -Mark of Naricain with 5 STR (I believe) -A lvl 90 Bowman Overall (Since imo they look amazing) with 2-6 STR (I believe). -Bowman Shoes with maybe 2-5 STR From this is looks like I will have about 30 STR from equips, so if I need 105 STR, I should cap at 75, and no higher. *So should I raise my STR to 75 at lvl 80 and try to get a mediocre STR PAC or a STR Overall? Or should I keep my STR at 72, get better STR gear for level 80, and later use resets (Which I may possibly have enough funds for sometime in 4th job) to get to 70? *Also, what STR did you people decide to cap at? I may consider just rising to 80 STR for convenience and then using a Dragon Shiner/Timeless Weapon if lots of people have it capped this high. Thanks for any help. =) |

| Starbomba said: " nah, for a ranger isn't high. reset it down/pump to 75 if you feel like it, but if it were me, i wouldn't touch it anymore." The real problem will arise at level 90 if I wish to use a Metus. I still won't have a Zhelm by that time (Unless I get REALLY lucky). My friend has a +5 above average Metus, however, and he will probably sell it to me cheap so I can scroll. I have a 101 attack Arund for level 80 right now, though I suppose I could upgrade it if I can't get the strength for the Blue Metus. By the way, here's another question: What Att Blue Metus Do I need to warrant getting 10 more STR and to out-train the Arund by a long shot? I think the Golden Arund is the nicest looking bow ever, so if it isn't a big difference, I will use it to level 100. Also, what is the minimum level where I could survive Zak at? With and without HB please. I was originally planning trying to organize/go on a run with a group of my 3rd jobber friends, or maybe an All ranger/BM run at about level 100. Earning my ZHelm is the biggest goal in maple for me. =) |

| 72 Strength isn't high at all. My strength is currently capped at 73, and I still have a lot of room for improvement (need to finish my STR top, need to upgrade to Altair Earrings, get some Broken Glasses, stuff like that) I think the total +strength from my items is 34 right now, and like +65ish for dex. Since you want to earn your Zhelm, I would just cap your strength so you can use your Arund at level 80 (a 101 attack Arund isn't the absolute greatest, but it can last you a long time), then keep it there until you get your helmet, then you can work on upgrading to whatever bow you wish |

| I planned on capping my archers str at 50 and use a 15 str helm, dep/MoN, 10 str cape, and 15 str level 40 top to use a Metus. If I want to upgrade to a Nisrock I'd just raise my base str by 10. But that's all with funding, and I'd have all those equips (with the exception of the MoN) at 50. 72 str, from what I've seen, is a reasonable str to cap at. I remember seeing an SS of a BM with 71 str, and he had a really nice range. |

I have more than enough for a ZHelm run, and if I sold some useless stuff I have, I could probably afford a karma'd one. That isn't the question at all. Also, I do not believe in spending real money on an online game, therefore no NX or meso-sites. OT: The thing is, what is the point in having a 10 STR Cape and a STR Overall at end-game? I would much prefer it if I wasn't dependant on these equips and had DEX versions instead. Anyways, I will see if I can keep my STR at 72. At end-game, maybe for a Timeless Weapon or a Nisrock, i will consider upping it to 75 STR and using DEX equips. Thanks everyone. =) |

| I've got 55 base, and that is WAY too high and that is my only regret about my Bowmaster. Keep it around 40 tops. And buy a zhelm, you'll never "earn" one without already having one due to trust issues with mislooting, although if you have good connections I can see it happening. With your base STR, all you need is a zhelm, MoN, and just lvl 80-100 equips scrolled with DEX to equip a Nisrock. kimjun23 said: "Readin about your equips gave me a good laughxP" You are a disgrace to the bowman community. |

| Well, I have a zhelm, and I capped at 82 str. Of course, my end game weapon also requires 115 STR, and I lack a dep star/MoN Personally, I think it's alright. If your finishing with a nisrock though, 72~75 seems about right since they require 105 str. Basically, about 30~40 str is the prime point where it's most beneficial, anything lower would be worthless as it would be cheaper to get a DEX overall than a STR one. That's why I went with all "red" bowman equips which give the most str clean, and scrolled all of them for dex. It seemed to work out well. With clean shoes and 100%'d overall, I was able to get a 33 STR bonus and 3X dex bonus. |

I just don't like how Dragon Shiners look so I don't want to pump 10 more STR for one. I prefer Nisrocks, though Arunds are the coolest along with Crimson Arclancers (imo). If I find a nice Crimson Arclancer, I will get more STR somehow to use it instead of a Nisrock. Problem is, I like how the Green Ades looks the most. A nicely scrolled one will hopefully be my end-game overall. And they only give about 3 STR right? Also, what is the use in having a STR overall to avoid putting AP in STR, when you could just put some more AP in STR and make up for the DEX lost through a DEX overall? |

| Well the thing is, one day HTPs will get the two other eggs, becoming much better than a MoN. So with that always in mind I like to keep my characters always very low secondary stat. All my bowmans equips are STR. 11 STR 22 DEX Red Ades, 5 STR 8 DEX Red boots, 15 STR zhelm, 8 STR PAC, 5 STR MoN. My base is 56, and that gives me 99 STR, and with max MW, enough for a Nisrock. But I usually do not have MW, and my bow is my sexy 110 black metus, so I swap the 8STR PAC for a higher ATT 6 DEX and my own lvl 5 MW and yeah. But 75 STR is totally acceptable, as is any base STR. The goal is to have just enough STR to equip your weapon, and have as many total stats (STR+DEX) as possible. So any base STR is exactly the same damage wise as long as the total STR is the same, because they would also have the same DEX (assuming no blood build, perfect stats) because all those STR scrolls become DEX. Hope this helps in your decision. |

| I capped my str at 54 and I don't regret it all. With all my equips I have enough to equip a metus, and if I wanted to I could change my pac into a str one and be able to equip a nisrock. Equips: 16 str zhelm 19 str bathrobe 3/8dex pac Dep star => Improving to MoN and 2 str shoes > Which will be upgraded to 7-8 dex GSS. |

I might raise my base to 46 though in order to use a neschere. |

| To answer your question, STR-overall's are cheaper. That's whole point of Low-STR, saving money, and making the most of items that give all stats such as dep stars and zhelms. |

| asdflol said: " Maple Warrior affects base DEX and thus gives you a greater attack boost when you have more base DEX." Pshhh. That is largely over-rated. Assuming I ever reach the far-away 4th job, I will max SE, followed by Hurricane, Dragon's Breath, and Bow Mastery first. This is... well, I don't know how many AP, since I am not that knowledgable about 4th job yet, but about 90? So this will take me to about level 150. I find it very unbeleivable that I will ever reach such a level so I will never need to think about MW. Anyways, 3 or so extra AP in DEX won't give much of a boost, as MW is %-based. @RealKatana (above) Sure, it is slightly cheaper, but not by TOO much. You get some money but you become dependant on your equips. Sometimes I like to wear a Speed Cape or something when I can constantly kill a monster in X hits, so it helps more. If you went Low-STr, you will always have to wear your STR PAC or whatever. The same goes for other equips. I don't like the dependancy. |
