I've been a sniper for 28 levels now, and the second skill I ever added was blizzard. Well basically in those 27 levels there after, I've rarely ever used bliz to freeze anything and kill! I basically either take monsters down with iron arrow, AE or Strafe. EAGLE on the other hand was an awesome skill and I actually enjoyed using while training because the stun and damage is passive so I don't have to stop attacking. I just feel like instead of loosing 3k damage do freeze for one second I'd rather just attack a few more times and kill the monsters straight up. Snipers, post what you TRULY think of using blizzard during training. QUOTES: Abba26 said: "It used to be more useful when Aqua was the best place for sniper training. Squids take 10 hits to kill? No problem! Just blizz, strafe, strafe and repeat. =p Also useful for gobies. Blizz + AE" Blizz is a loss of about 2k-4k damage, and the freeze effect for 1-2 seconds gives me a chance for maybe 3-4 attacks. Why not just strafe, strafe, strafe, kill and move on instead? Blizz + AE at Gobies is crappy tactics, why waste your time with blizz it only takes like 5 AE to kill them all, might as well just hold down the AE button and rely on KB to keep them away from you. bilbo3105 said: "While AE/AR's range starts from you and hits outwards, blizzard's AoE starts from where the first arrow lands. So for example at typhoons, if there are 3 or 4 typhons some distance away from u (too far for AE/AR) use blizzard to hit one in your range and it will spread to the others, thereby luring them." I've been doing this for awhile and this is basically the most useful thing I can think of for when to use blizzard. As for using blizz at newts... again, it's a waste of damage, plus snipers don't shoot very fast in the first place so that makes eagle the better, passive stunning skill which doesn't require me to interrupt my spam of strafe or AE. I will say this though, blizzard is a god sent for snipers at TT because Memory Monk hit hard o-o EDIT: So you guys are all agreeing that you go 1 blizz, then level 21 at the very end of 3rd job? andrewtsia said: "It's your story. Don't complain here, it's your fault for adding points into Blizzard in the first place." WHOA WHOA WHOA back the heck up, I never said I regret anything. In fact, I made my sniper BECAUSE OF BLIZZARD. It just seems to me that people always say the main reason snipers are better than rangers is because of blizzard, and I think you guys are leaving out quite a lot more factors.

Try using it more, you'll find you take far less damage. Getting level 21 also helps, aya.

From what I've seen, snipers use blizzard all the time while doing the top platform at newts. I don't really know though. Listen to kevvl ><

It used to be more useful when Aqua was the best place for sniper training. Squids take 10 hits to kill? No problem! Just blizz, strafe, strafe and repeat. =p Also useful for gobies. Blizz + AE Blizz is good for people that like training at stronger monsters in general. Also useful for early 4th job training like lolsomewhat said.^^

everything these people have said is true, but i would like to add, that it can also be used as an effective lure, similar to a rangers inferno. While AE/AR's range starts from you and hits outwards, blizzard's AoE starts from where the first arrow lands. So for example at typhoons, if there are 3 or 4 typhons some distance away from u (too far for AE/AR) use blizzard to hit one in your range and it will spread to the others, thereby luring them. IMO this little trick is suprisingly handy =] Gl

Speaking as an observer, I've seen Blizzard put to great use on the top platform at Newties - my Marksmen friend rarely gets hit up top utilizing the combo of Bliz and Frostprey.

i love blizzard, and i've been using it heavily, but as i've been typhoning since lvl 92, it's use was to lure typhons at long ranges, lol still, i've maxed it only until lvl 116 (could survive with lvl 1 until then) but now that i can solo himes, newts & skeles, i can't live without it (lvl 21), even with my frostprey summon. EDIT: @below: i sometimes get jealous that all your skills actualy crit, and that you can stun more than 1 monster, especially in ice strong mobs xD

i would throw away any of my fire baised skills to get blizzard. Try using it more in your training and funtime. Or just use it around bowmasters to make us jealous
