So, I finally got past the JQ after dying several times today, got my Mark of Heroism, and started training at Typhons. Then I realized just how much of a potburn Typhons are T_T I was wondering if anyone had any strategies to reduce the amount of pots used at Typhons. Also, about how many pots do you use an hour at Typhons?

Potburn? zheese I dont even notice the "potburn" cos I barely use around 500barb & 100sorc for a level ,but I keep playing around with merching at the same time so I dont notice the money it burns. Tho I dont see whats the problem here ppl saying typhons are potburning, sure you use pots "faster" than in monsters like squids but at the same time u get alot "faster" experience aswell so they kinda negate eachother to be just as much of potuse per level imo.

If you raised Puppet high enough you can: 1) Gather a mob of Typhons 2) Puppet on the left side of the platform 3) Stand in thorns and kill until the mob is dead 4) Repeat Edit: You shouldnt get hit by the mob if you can consistently kb the mob.

Well I can imagine some ppl have problems getting the puppet way of dodgin dmg, tho I do think everyone should be able to use the thorns to atleast minimize the contant hit dmg, but its all about beign creative and not takin hits like meatshield as we archers arent one ;)

Beware, using puppet at a low level results in the mob flying off after they kill puppet or puppet's time runs out. =]

IF you think typhons are a potburn you are not ready for your later lvls. Typhons hit at max 350. anything else the same lvl or above is going to beat you mercilessly from 1800 to 4000.

It's not that they hit that much (I tried wolfspiders a while ago, those hurt), its just that I get smacked around a lot T_T. What level puppet do I need to train effectively there? And which thorn are you guys talking about o.o?

If you attack the mob at least once right after puppet goes away it prevents it from flying away.

The problem with this statement is that you should be training with mobs larger then 6 so if your puppet dies, you will lose at least some of your mob (you can only hit 6 at a time). Puppet becomes efficient here in it's later levels say ~14. The idea is that you should use puppet when you can kill your entire mob before your puppet times out or dies. So puppet's efficiency will also depend on your equips/ ability.

O_O I don't often use the puppet method because I don't mind the pot burn but whenever I use it (currently at lvl 9) I don't have any problems with typhons flying away.
