So i just read a thread about a guy who thinks the squire class should be made. this class is ridiculusly over powered. But ever since i started playing maplestory, I have been thinking about a spear class. It would be kinda like aran is for Pole arms, but doesnt use the combo system. Here it is 1st job swordsman 2nd job Dasher Spear master Spear booster Spire ( a rush/ assaulter like skill that can be used even without an enemy ahead, does 130% damage, can mob enemies together. can only be used once every 5 seconds) Horseman (haste except speed is 130% and jump is 115%) Great defense (defense is up + 40 magic defense and normal defense) 3rd Job Breaker Spire booster ( now increases spires, no cool down time if used at an enemy, if not used on an enemy, 5 secnds cool down remains. Now does 350%) Stab ( an always stab move, similar to Buster, except its only 2 stabs through 6 monsters, has the range of Fury, attacks at 200%) Divine Guard (takes only half of the magic damage done to the player) Continuing fury ( does 6 Stabs to a single enemy, as fast as a slinger can shoot 6 bullets, each stab is at 190%) Anger ( increases weapon attack by 15 to the user, at the cost of losing 10 speed) 4th Job Horseman Maple warrior Horse ( similar to gunslinger battle ship, the user begins to ride on a horse, the horse will take damage, and when he has reached his maximum damage, he flees, requires 120 seconds recharge) Great Lance (On the horse, the user rides foreward than back (similar to Boomerang step) does 400% 2 times) Great Leap ( on the horse the user jumps, similar to flash jump and holds the spear foreward, the user can either use the leap as a method of traveling, or crash into enemies, dealing 1000%, but 95% damage to the user (excluding the horse)) Stab booster ( now does 3 stabs with stab at 200% to 6 enemies) This has always seemed to be a Shadower like warrior class to me, what do you think?

Nice like a shadower/buccaneer but then with a spear.

sounds wikkid. a warrior having mounted combat has always been sumfin ive looked for lol cause thats sumthing that seems like it would just be cool. ur also taking away some of the disadvantages of the regular warriors lol SPEED we have nothing. and rush should be a low level warrior thing it just makes sense to CHARGE into battle lol

Not needed. Pages/White Kights should just be given some of these, as they are the "Squire/Knight" class of them game. Another one would be dumb. It is better to make all the different class types have 3 subclasses, like Warriors and Magicians. I think it would be awesome if these classes came out for the others: -Bard (For theives or Pirates or Bowmen) -Trackers/Druid (Bowmen?) -Some duel-wielding class (Pirates) A Bard could specialize in buffing Party members, though would still be decent in solo. He could get Haste, a buff for more meso-drop, buffs for more accuracy/avoid, a buff for extra damage (Stackable with Attack Pots). He could use Stringed Instruments (Lyres) as his weapons. Since he has so many great buffs, he wouldn't be that great at soloing. A Tracker/Druid would have abilities like finding where certain monsters are (without the use of the Monster Book), including their channels. This would be REALLY useful for hunting down bosses ad the like. He could also have various "Wild Form" moves, where he can change his shape into something fitting, like a Raven for flight and speed, a Wolf for Power, a Shark for under-water movement, etc...There would be special skills/attacks which he could only use in a specific form. Trackers would be VERY flexible and would be able to adapt to the environment. The last class could be called a "Saboteur" or something along those lines. He would be able to dual-wield weapons and would be VERY strong offensively. However, his HP and defense would be terrible (like an Archer's). To survive, he would need to use his mobility. he could have a Passive Speed/Jump boost in 2nd job (like Thrust+jump) which would give him near-maximum speed and jump. He could also have a Dark Sight/Oak barrel type of move. He would also have loads of moves lke Rsuh/Assaulter, giving him even more mobility. In 4th, he could have a move which teleports him to the opposite side of the monster, regardless of its width (so he could move back and forth across Zakum or somehing. He would also be able to inflict Poison Status on his targets. I think these classes are much more unique and needed than another warrior-type class which makes Spearmen even more useless.

Great Leap ( on the horse the user jumps, similar to flash jump and holds the spear foreward, the user can either use the leap as a method of traveling, or crash into enemies, dealing 1000%, but 95% damage to the user (excluding the horse)) So if a horseman has 10,000 base HP, and does 60k damage which seems reasonable due to 1000% damage, your guy pretty much dead o_O So is it suppose to be suicidal?

Lancer huh. Sounds like this one guy from the anime Fate Stay/Night. I support your idea!

I think there's too much 1vMob. I feel the job should suck until you get a mount; the progression should be more like swordsman>footman>Cavalier>Templar BTW there are 7 3rd job skills, and 10 4th job skills. footman skills would be spear/sword mastery/booster (the two weapons commonly used off horseback), and standing spear skills, kind of like phalanx skills. Phalanx - Gains 50% stance for 90 seconds. For each other footman/Cavalier/Templar in the party, adds 20% stance. Weapon attack damage + 20%. Defence booster - Damage reduction 30% (all) (i.e. a castable achilles) Phalanx Push - Unable to change movement direction. Must be casted while under Phalanx conditions. Movement speed -10. Unable to be used mounted. Weapon attack damage +100%. For each other footman/Cavalier/Templar in the party, movement speed reduction is reduced by 2. Any enemy that walks into you from the direction you are facing receives your weapon attack damage -40% (after the 100% boost, meaning you're still doing 144% damage to them ((100*1.20+*2) * .6). Has relatively short cooldown, lasts for about 20-30 seconds. Cavalier Mounted Attack - 120% damage when maxed, starts around 74% damage. Allows you to use any attack/buff off your mount (except restricted attacks like the Phalanx Push) Mounted Charge - Passive ability. When mounted and you take touch damage from an enemy, the enemy receives 30% of your weapon attack damage. (i.e. if phalanx is casted and mounted attack is maxed, it is ~43% damage). This is from your trained pig/boar charging through the enemy. Horsemanship - Mount speed +10 when maxed, def + 50, attack +12, debuffs charged enemies -10 watt, -10 def. Abilities only work when mounted (i.e. get on your blasted pig) Increasing MP recovery - Passive, as Crusader Shield Mastery - Passive, as Crusader/Paladin Rally the Forces - From a mounted position, gives the party +50 def, +10 speed. Any footmen/cavalier/templar in the party also gets attack+12, although it doesn't stack with horsemanship. Line Breaker - Destroys enemy formation by charging into it. Charge damage + 100% (from 43%, it goes to 86%), debuff abilities effectiveness +100% (-20 watt, -20 def). 4th Job Knight Templar Maple warrior Hero's Will Monster Magnet Achilles Expert Horsemanship - Mount speed +20, def + 80, attack +26, debuffs -20,-20. Expert Mounted Charge - enemies receive 50% damage Order of the Dragon - By joining the sacred chivalric order, gain 20% boost to HP/MP and 15% boost to total wdef. Passive, permanent. Angered Mount - Mount gains its own attack. Whenever you use an attack skill, the mount will bite or kick the nearest enemy, dealing 30% damage. (this is barely as useful as it sounds...this is more a buff and run into things class than an attacking class) Sarissa/Greatblade - only useable with a spear/sword, does 400% damage when maxed Mounted Rush - Similar to rush, except it does not push enemies back. You ride through them, applying 'rush' damage to each one. =========== It s

Hay no! no! no Breakers Copy of Wind Breakers
Annihilatron 06/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Every warrior has a breaker skill in 3rd job. I just figured that for a Cavalier, it shouldn't suck like the other three (magiccrash/powercrash/armourcrash)
Turtlemuscle 06/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
nah great leap wouyld be suicidal, its just if he had 10000 hp, he'd only have 500 after the move, and most likely pot up again, but it would be hard to do at bosses, discouraging its use.
Fluxion 06/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
The 3rd job is ridiculously overpowered
Annihilatron 06/25/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
His? Yes. Mine? No. Since the charge effects only occur when you would take damage, its pretty freaking weak, actually. It'd just be cool to ride around and hit things, thats all. It'd basically a WK with no charges and a mount. BTW, that mount still costs you whatever the Pig is these days.
