So yesterday I was out to my friend's birthday party. My friends decided to race across the street when the light signals for us to cross the street. As we were running, the car tried to make it through the red light. As he turned, the car hit me on the left side of my body lightly. I flipped about 720 and about 2 feet off the ground. I fell and hit my elbow and it started bleeding. Was it my fault for getting hit, or the driver's fault?

In reality its your fault for running across the road and not looking to see if there was a car, but the law will see it as his fault since pedestrians have the right of way

It was red, why would the driver try to get past at all? Especially when the walk signals tells you to walk, its like 15 secs after it first turned red. Drivers fault.

It's technically your fault... but the law states that the Pedestrian has the right of way so they can sue. But You weren't supposed to be there... so it's really your fault.

You'd both be at fault; since I'm assuming you were going over the speed limit because you were racing and because he ran the red light. If you pressed charges, he could press charges back.
