MAPLESTORY.EXE threat?

I recently did a virus scan on my computer and i got two threats related to maple. So I uninstalled maple and reinstalled it again and it still counts it suspicious. Is it okay to allow? Here are the two "threats" Threat Name - HeurEngine.Packed.Themida.RGa Type - File Risk Level - Suspicious Infection - c:nexonmaplestorymaplestory.exe Other infection... Threat Name - HeurEngine.Packed.Themida.RGa Type - Startup Risk Level - Suspicious Infection - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoft\WindowsCurrentVersionSharedDLLs, C:NexonMaplestoryMapleStory.exe = 1

.... MapleStory.exe is the game client. You can't play Maple without running that executable file.

It's called a false positive, and I doubt there's a virus in maplestory. =]

That happened to me. They deleted the .exe and I had to get it from my friend.

That's why I thought, but I did some searching about this problem. I wasn't the only one, people got the same thing with combat arms and stuff. I guess it's some sorta FP.

Maybe cuz the client integrates its self with your system? (like a root kit sort of) Like how when you do this the client can do that (i.e guess wrong info client shuts down, or detecting hacks)

It's safe, it's a false positive. It's just the way the security is built I believe. No need to uninstall and whatever, it's 100% safe and good to go. I also think Nexon should tell people this to prevent confusion. >.>

dont hack. nah jk... isnt it that "virus" thing that Nexon made to prevent hackers from playing? have you used any programs that may have effected HackShield? if so, you can probably just make an exception for maplestory.exe...

It's a false positive. The packed Themida's are injected into the file so they can track you, and protect you from packet editors. But most Antiviruses pick it up as a virus.
