How do you use it and how much damage increase do you get for using it?

Don't take my word for it, I've only seen slingers use it in videos. However, I think how it works is it's an active skill and you shoot a monster and deal a certain amount of damage. Then after that, no matter what attack you use and what monsters are closer to you, you'll always hit that one and it'll do a % more damage. Check Hidden-Street for the damage details.

it always hit the targeted monster and if u have the 4th job skill it makes u do more dmg on tat monster

Hidden street says 380% damage, but if its 380% more damage doesn't that sound too good to be true? But I still don't understand how homing works.

That's the damage the skill will do when it hits a foe. Not an increase. Bullseye (4th job skill) at lvl 20 is 580% initial hit and all attacks within your attacking range will target that monster and do 20% more damage.

ahhh that makes so much more sense thanks for clearing that up

Just a little added thing is the 20% is multiplicative, meaning let's take cannon, it doesn't do 380+20% it does 456% cause cannon fires 4 times, and 20% increase
dannyman232 06/09/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
note that only when used with bullseye is the dmg boost applied. homing itself just makes it so you only hit that affected monster

I didn't get the 20% multiplier thing. And how do you quote someone? :O

sumyounguy said: "I didn't get the 20% multiplier thing. And how do you quote someone? :O" It means, every HIT you do to the homed in enemy gets a 20% dmg boost. As in both bullets of burst fire, ect.

Ok since cannon at max lvl does 380% where did that guy fork out 456%?

FroznSolidsumyounguy said: "Ok since cannon at max lvl does 380% where did that guy fork out 456%?" that's what he meant by mulplicative. its not 380% + 20%. Its (380% x 20%) + 380%. the stuff inside the paranthesis is the increase by the damage (which, in max cannon's case, is 380/5). The +380% is the basic damage you do EDIT: and (380% x .2) + 380% = 456%

does the whole party target the monster? of just the person who used Homing?
