Sorry if it has been discussed before X_X Do corsairs use flamethrower after 4th job? If flamethrower is one of those skill that gets throw off the key settings after 4th, Wouldnt it be better to max gaviota for slightly more damage when we training/bossing? Especially on 1 on 1 boss combat.. I know we deal high enough.. but more is better :P ( I heard that gaviota requires no casting time. so you can use skill like rapid fire and cast gaviota in the middle of it right?) ** some basic info about throwflamer Max element boost at 4 job gives 200% more damage to ice and fire And max flamethrower+ EB = 160% +200% = 360%, to fire weak monster +50% = 410% a Lv 1 t0rped0 390% can already outdmg a maxed FT+EB ( Well lv 1 t0rped0 hits 4 monsters while maxed FT hits 6, so FT actually will deal more dmg compared to lv 1 tor but we'll max t0rped0 eventually which is 780% x 6 monster) So even if we are killing fire weak monster, maxed t0rp will still be used for almost doubled flamerthrower's dmg I cant really find the burning effect done by flamethrower.....but I think it's very minimum

I don't think Corsairs would be using FT since they'll be using Torp. As for Gaviota, it's a useless skill once you get Air Strike. I plan on leaving my Gaviota at 15 and getting FT to 30 (to train at Blue Kents).

I'm using it at some places and to unfreeze monsters if i ever have to. It really depends on your playing style. Even if you don't use it anymore for serious training, i don't use Gaviota at all. The burn damage is 5% of the damage done IIRC. To RoyalAsassin, You can jump and attack with Flamethrower, you can't with Torped0. That's a huge advantage Flamethrower has over Torped0.

oo thanks for reply guys :O Gaviota's damage formula is independent itself right? ( It says base attack xxx so I dunno how it works ) Anyone knows how much does it do at 12x+?

Yes and no. It's somehow based off your level i think, but no one can really prove that. What i do know is that it stacks with Bullseye, a skill that increases your damage range. My level 15 Gaviota does around 7k damage i think. But i didn't check in months.

Gaviota's based off your dex and str, and the value stated is the "weapon attack" (it ignores your own weapon attack and att pots). Flamethrower does 160% damage and burns for 5% of the initial hit for 5 seconds. 200% damage if the whole burn carries through. FT + Max EB does 360% damage and burns for 10% of the initial hit for 5 seconds. 540% damage tops. On fire weak monsters you multiply damage by 1.5, not add 50%. So 810% on fire weak. I mostly use FT because it's extremely fast and because I can use it in midair. It has has a slightly higher hitbox than Torp, which is helpful for sniping sometimes. I use it very sparingly but I prefer having it to Gaviota, which I never use.

The only times when I'll use FT would be while messing around, doing lower leveled quests, hunting monster cards, etc Since a lot of time I won't want to use my battleship for just clearing lower leveled mobs because all of my other skills can pretty much 1hit the monsters anyways, plus you can spam it in a mob without having your gun whack the monsters which is nice I've never used it in a real training situation though because the damage is so horrid (or maybe i just suck)

Kinda leaves you frozen for a split second... then again might just be me and my crap internet connection..... f3

Kinda leaves you frozen for a split second... then again might just be me and my crap internet connection..... f3" I wouldn't really call it a delay but, when you're spamming cannon and you hit your Gav key it'll make your cannon stop while you summon Gav, so you need to quickly hit your cannon key again to keep firing. Most times it isn't that big of a deal but it's annoying when you're trying to keep a boss pinned.. but then again when you're pinning something, you just don't use Gavoita, lol

Gavoita froze the character from attacking for a sec after it was casted >_> so it cant really be adding any damage...maybe even will slow down the dmg since we could've casted another cannon in that sec >_>

Which is why Gavito will almost never be effectively used in 4th job . It freezes your charac for a second, in which time a extra cannon could hav been fired. On the other hand, Fire (with max EB) is more damaging to a mob of fire-weak then torp. And you use it in 3rd job ALOT more then Gavito (unless you plan to newtie snipe for 30+ lv's)
