Beat the main plot the first time, get about 95% of the total content the next time.

I only buy games that are either really long, like Fallout or Oblivion, or have an online component, such as Halo or CoD. Everything else I rent, and yeah, I beat it once and I'm done.

I usually just beat it once, except if i really like the game, or ill beat again for some achievments to get some gamer points

Clear it once, then repeat multiple times for extras.

Try to find all the secrets, try to finish everything not part of the main quest, then advance a little more. I usually finished about 10 % of the games I play.

Depends on how good the game is, crap games i won't even finish, great game i would complete 99% of everything on it

If it's Pokemon, any Tales game, everything. Anything else, just to unlock all the characters and moves if any.

Depends on the game. RPG / VN are certainly my favourite ones. I'll usually do everything excluding objectives such as "Collect all items" and such. For some reason if there are ever any extras that show more towards a games plot then I'll definitely do it.

Well I got 999 hours and 59 minutes in Pokemon diamond, my counter just stopped. I like to play my games to a 100% I even collect all items..
