Hey everyone! This thread is dedicated to licking 9 volt batteries For those who don't know what a 9 volt battery is... link So, the point is, you should touch the part that has the two tips sticking out on your tongue. Share your experiences PS: For those of you who may be worried..it just gives you a tingling sensation Although its safe to 'lick' a 9-volt battery, it is unsafe to lick other items with higher electrical currents, such as the following : link EDIT: As stated below, "batterys" in the title should be"batteries". I remember when I was young, I accidentally ripped off the coating from the wires of my SNES controller. The wires tasted like those batteries.

Your tongue (and your body) acts like a extra-gigantic resistor and capacitor. Just for comparison, 27V(3 batteris of 9V) produces ONLY ~27mA (a small LED bulb requires 15mA...), that means you need a huge amount of batteries to produce enough current (and power cuz power[watt]=voltage[volts]*current[ampers]) to even feel it in the rest of your body. The human tongue is so sensitive, so it can feel that kind of current. Also, if you wonder, you get a decent shock from your electricity in the wall socket cuz the current is 3A*120V(for example)=360Watts, that power is used by medium size speakers ! SO BE CAREFUL KIDS and DONT LICK SOCKETS FOR CANDIES! Interesting edit: also: 1WATT=1(N*m)/s N=Newton (force)=1(kg*m[mass])/s*s.... m=meters s=seconds

Technically it WILL shorten your life because the tingling is battery acid which is poisonous. If you are suicidal or an idiot have fun licking batteries.
