I am not concerned with ACC requirements, suggest equips, 1h vs 2h, or other equip-related variables, but please take into account these factors: - EXP per hour - Training cost - Potential gains from mesos/drop/EQ/etc Thanks to those who take the time to click a button. Even more thanks to those who actually explain why they chose what they chose.

None of them gain mesos. Firebrand has the best gain of them, as their badges drop quite consistently. But ultimately, none of them actually gain, with firebrands/typhons being cheapest and Himes being most expensive, but Himes being highest exp/hour, then firebrands @ path of strength (which is mix with nightshadow), then pure nightshadows, then typhons.

Himes is absolutely best at exp/hour but also has the highest training cost. Firebrands/nightshadows at path of strenght doeesn't burn as many pots, has some nice drops (flamekeeper cordon, badges) but doesn't give as good exp.. I'm sure about how typhon training would work out as a sader o_O How do you mob them lol.

I've done it. It requires stupid (high) amounts of character control. I used to mob them for a 9x archer who would stand in the centre safe spot next to the weed, and go in circles to bring them back (i.e. climb to top, go left to jack's place, come back to middle, go right, down rope back up, up-right, down, rope back up, etc) Its really hard to mob them yourself AND kill them yourself, I've found. Focusing on not being blown off the map is hard enough as it is. I don't know about now, but back then -no use shout; they get stuck at bottom -jump attack to get them to follow you, ensure you take touch damage like.......ALL THE TIME to avoid being thrown off the map

But still, the ones flowing mid-air (meaning nowhere near a platform) won't be hit by jump+atk =/ It's much easier with a 400% range Droar lol. And I can imagine it'll take a long time and extremely good skills to learn how to navigate the map as a sader.

Only after long periods of training, a good amount would get stuck there which would easily be solved by leaving the map for a second. With the map change, even less should get stuck, but now there's a higher chance that you'll be knocked off the map. It is rather annoying though, since you need a lot more concentration while training. Anyways, exp-wise: himes>nightshadows/firebrands>typhons I actually found path of strength about equal in exp with the pure nightshadow map. The nightshadow map is easier to navigate through though. When I was level 100, I spent most of my time at typhons and gobies (mostly gobies). It wasn't until later when I was closer to 4th job (lv 115ish) that I switched to himes and nightshadows. I trained nowhere as quickly as the people that went to himes did, but I couldn't afford to burn pots like crazy. The exp wasn't actually that bad. You won't be gaining at any of the three areas, I'm afraid. The badge exchange gets you a good amount of money, but only to cover a portion of the pot costs. Typhons are the most pot-friendly out of the three. It was about neutral meso-wise for me, but hey, at least you're not burning pots. |

with the map change, i don't think they can get stuck, but you'll definitely fly off the map if you pass the bottom. Although I rarely fell past the bottom anyway. I just don't do it anymore. I just plain don't like difficult map navigation.

I actually was getting nearly as much xp soloing nightshadows as I was at himes.. it wasn't as far off as I thought it would be. The pot burn was higher than I expected though. If the pot burn at nightshadows was lower, I would definitely suggest it over the alternatives, but atm I'd have to go with himes. I have never trained at firebrands, but if its as good as you guys are saying I might give it a shot. Typhons are unbearable for me. The map just does not suit crusaders (or any warrior for that matter) at all. Pot costs will be very very low however, and xp can get pretty high if you know what you're doing there. For the record, I've got 77 nightshadow badges just sitting in my etc inventory... who do I trade them in to ?

Okay, thanks for the input. I'll prob do a 10-minute comparison of Path of Strength vs Encounter with the Buddha, but I think Path of Strength will be more fun regardless (I like complex maps, plus the EQ will keep me motivated).

Well, I'm no crusader, so it would be totally unfair if I take a swing at that whole voting thing. Crusaders and white knights are very different, but I'll try to suggest a pretty decent training spot that many people seem to go to at level 100. Try gobies with a party?

@above Gobies are both fun, and yield decent gains, but I've been training there for 8 levels and feel like mixing it up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion though. @esvil If you're interested in trading in those badges, i'd suggest having all of your NLC quests done, including Finding Jack, and that's a pre-requisite for the Crimsonwood quests. Ultimately, you're gonna need to bring Taggrin some monster drops (phantom seeds, I think) and a map of the phantom forest, which you get from Jack. Completing this quest will enable you to participate in Joko's EQ.
