Multiple accounts

Can we make multiple accounts on Basil? My brother wants to join Basil, but it would be confusing using 2 different people on the same account and IP. 2 years ago, Basil Market didn't allow multiple accounts made used on the same IP. Does that rule still apply now?

Well, the rules are written there clearly, but I've seen plenty of times when mods interpret the rules using common sense. I think this would be one of those cases. I mean, if you and your brother are really two different people, then I see nothing wrong with you posting on two different accounts. HOWEVER, if you post on each others' accounts, or any attention is drawn to such behavior, then you could run into some problems. Look at it this way, you wouldn't have multiple accounts, you'd just have one account and your brother would have one account. Nobody would have multiple accounts; everybody is happy. :D So, in short, I think that mods would see that you are two different people using two different accounts. So, go for it! :]

Well, the rules simply state that YOU are not to create multiple accounts; it never said anything about 2 accounts belonging to 2 different people on the same IP. However, if you start doing something suspicious with the two accounts, such as using your brother's account to post if you are suspended, or feedback scamming with each other, then you will probably be noticed, reported, and suspended accordingly or have both accounts banned. In other words, don't do anything that would appear as if you are purposely abusing a loophole in the rules. Because then you and your brother will have ruined it for yourselves.

Are you sure both of you have the same IP? And yes, in case one account belongs to you and the other belongs to your brother [and neither uses the other's account to bypass any suspension rules], it's perfectly fine. You can go ahead and create the second account.

I love how nobody paid attention to the actual opening post in this thread and immediately jumped to linking to the rules. TS, you and your brother are not the same person, so it's perfectly fine to have two different accounts on your IP. Just don't go using your brother's account or letting him use yours.
