So, I'm a Slinger noob, and was wondering if you guys recommend maxing Mastery or Invisible Shot first. I've heard people recommend both, so I'd like to hear your guy's opinions.

1 point in invis shot at 30, then 19 into Mastery is recomended You could do a combination of both. Tbh, I can't really remember Mastery making THAT much of an impact on my damage that early

I went 1 in Invisi shot at level 30, then 19 mastery. Why only 19? Because that last point only gives you one more accuracy and ten more bullets, no mastery bonus. That isn't that many more bullets, and honestly a slinger has no issues with accuracy already. I went ahead and started adding points in other skills from there, maxed Invis shot, got some wings, some recoil, some blank shot... the final mastery point gets added later after you have more useful skills added and up to a level you're comfortable with.

Personally I did 10 Invisible, then I went for Mastery. Then I finished off Invisible. Would I recommend that idea? Meh. I would definitely have at least 1 on Invisible ASAP. If you can tolerate a low minimum damage for a little while longer, then you can try what I did. For most people though, I'd recommend 19 mastery before worrying too much about invisible. So I guess I recommend 1 Invisible, then 19 mastery (put the last point on mastery later, like in 6x). 1 point in blank shot won't hurt either. Decent stun chance, and no minimum range.
