Why do so many mages use whips?

I noticed that many of the mages carried whips. But it does not add anything to their magic attacks so why do mages still use red whips? Is it just for the extra speed?

Because mages just like to torture one and eachother .They like latex, whips, chains, etc. Really. It's true.

Sometimes speed is a necessity. Same reason that people get speed shoes and scroll pets with speed. Everyone's trying to reach that fabled (not for hasted people, of course) 140% speed. It helps alot when you're training, especially if you don't have tele maxed. If you only have one point in tele, you can't afford to wate 60 mana each cast just to go places quicker. Which is why your get a whip. Like.. if you're a lightning mage (which i am) and you're training in Evil Eyes (which i am) you know that walking from sleepywood to the EE caves is a pain (which i know.) Speed helps =)

Level 42 Fighter (F): • Sky Shark Top - +7 • Sky Shark Skirt - +5 • Icarus Cape (2) - +10 • Red Whip - +15 • Any Whitebottoms or minor speed shoes- +3 Total - +40 Scroll for attack and defense, then you have it for both traveling and training. I prefer having the whitebottoms scrolled for jump as well.

Yeah...I have a pretty crap set of speed stuff tho...Brown Jester +5 Speed (trying to get +6 Speed) , Red Whip +17 speed (this isnt' crap but yer 0.0) and red whitebottom shoes +3 speed...I want Icarus Cape (2) >.> Yeah I want Bone Helm too
