My friend told me that Orajel (canker sore medicine) will numb your lip. Does anyone know if it's only when applied to a canker sore, or just whenever? Or if anyone recommend how to easily numb a lip, it'd really help me out.

I'm using Anbesol, but I imagine that it's the same thing. It'll numb your mouth when it's applied.

It won't numb it to the extent you won't feel anything piercing entirely through. The best method would just be lots of ice, maybe take a few shots beforehand...

The numbing gel for the mouth that you buy at the store wouldn't be that strong because you're only putting the gel on the surface of your lip, and the inside of your mouth, you're not actually going to numb the inside of your lip :/ ... And it only lasts for about ten minutes when you apply it, lol.

I would advise you to not pierce your won lip, lol. If you do decide to, make sure everything is sterile!

Ugh. I love numbing my lip and biting really hard just to get it to sting. :/
