Not able to use window mode

Using alt+enter does not put MS into windowed mode nor does ticking the window mode box in the options work either. I've tried changing my colors to 16-bit but that doesnt work either. I am running Win XP 32bit GeForce 8500 GT 3gb RAM

Theres a program called DxWnd which allows you to play in windowed mode, but I heard it's illegal.

I couldn't use Windows mode neither since I rebooted my computer. I wasn't even able to use Windows mode in the Pizza Slice. [Yes, Pizza Slice.] Maybe Xeiken's right. It's blocked, I guess.

keep restarting your comp, it works for me when my windowed mode is faulty.

I bet its because your on wide screen monitor. Yeah some monitors are not so easy about changing resolutions.

Well, when i press alt+enter, i hear the "Default Beep" sound. You can hear it at Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices/Sounds Tab and scrolling down to "Default Beep". Does that mean that I just cant press alt+enter? **********PROBLEM SOLVED********** All I did was change my monitors refresh rate to 59 Hertz to 75 Hertz. You can do this by going to: Control PanelDisplaySettings Tab -> Click Advanced Go to the Monitor Tab, make sure the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" is ticked and pick the highest one or whichever makes it work for you. Have fun :D
