so i was on ludi boat today and some sin started going off on me he started by asking the level of my drain i said 28 and he laffed and started on "drain sucks i dont need it, i'm going to max double stab" i told him that the skill would help at higher levels and he said he easily got to level 97 with no need to drain (i doubt that) so im just asking.. how many sins / hermits / nls' out there use drain?[

I use Drain, it's convenient. I only carry about 100 pops on me unless I'm bossing. Who'd max Double Stab when Drain hits more damage on criticals while you need to equip a Dagger in order to even use Double Stab & it heals as well? If he wanted to use Double Stab, he should've considered the Dit/Cb/Shadower route.

Well, drain isn't required to have to get to a certain level, but it is very useful as it save you a lot of pot money. It's a money-saving skill that helps you save your money up and use it to upgrade your equips, and you know our class can get very expensive. Thanks to drain, I have only used 300 HP pots from level 5x-87, so I don't know what that assassin you meet up was talking about. I mean he is choosing a skill that he most likely won't used at all. That's a good way of throwing away SP.

Drain isn't for its damage but its life-draining effect. Drain is no way to be seen as an Attack skill, it is a support ability. For the cost of 24mp and 1-2stars, you can practically heal to full health... that is a good deal instead of using a potion to heal every hit. Drain is not useless like some skills Assassins have available to them (Double Stab, Disorder Endure).

Drain gets harder to use after a while without the proper damage, newts can hit up to 2k+ on me and I have about 2.7k hp so if I don't heal 2k hp I will be dead, so pots are necessary for hardcore training and drain is for minor damage training like windraiders and v/hoodoos.
