 | UPDATES Read the bottom of this post for updates. Introducing - BasilMarket Instant Messenger - BasilIM - BIM The BasilMarket Instant Messenger (BIM) is now live! Get to know your Basil friends more! With BIM you can chat with your friends from any computer, all you have to do is login to your Basil account. Cool, right? How does it work? BIM is very easy to use, especially if you've used MSN, AIM, ICQ, etc. It's important to remember that you can only chat with someone if you are on their friend list and they are on your friend list. • If you're unhappy with how someone is behaving via BIM, simply goto your BasilID and click the 'red minus' icon to remove them from your friend list. From then on they will not be able to message you. • You can change your profile icon by going to your BasilID and selecting an icon from the "I am feeling" box. The change may not be immediate in BIM so be patient. Here's a list of all the emoticons you can use Coming in the future • Notifications will be sent via BIM if you win/sell an auction item, if someone responds to your Listing and many other notifications as well. These are unobtrusive. • Group chat may be coming in the future, currently you can only chat with one person at a time. I don't want to use BIM - On your 'My Settings' page (BasilID > My Settings) select No from the dropdown. Keep in mind that you will not receive any messages / notifications sent via BIM. Have fun! You may also have to close your browser and then open it again after clearing your cache. UPDATES • You can now enable BIM only on your BasilID. This is useful if you want the functionality of BIM but it slows down your page loading. |
