Xbox Redringed?

Okay, so me and my sisterinlaw were playing GH3 on xbox right? Then all of a sudden the screen goes play and im like "oh i bet its dead" being sarcastic... when we restart the xbox it actually red ringed... so I left it off for like 15 minutes and then we started playing again (went back to normal) then half way through a song the screen went purple and black stripes so we restarted it only to find it redringed again... i turned it off and my sister in law accidentally turned the controller on and the xbox worked again... so... what's going on?

Sometimes my 360 gets red ring and I just let it sit there for awhile then it works again. Like an hour or two. Friggin stupid machine hates me.

I'm telling you from now it's broken. Letting it sit for a while WILL NOT FIX IT. It can give you some time but it will NOT FIX IT. It means you have a hardware broken it could be minutes, hours, days (depending of what is broken) till' your xbox becomes obsolete, unless ofcourse you send it to microsoft which will fix it for you from 1-3 months. There is also a high chance everything you saved will be deleted.

Definitely the red rings. Call Xbox Customer Support, have them send you a box. Your Xbox should be returned to your household one to three weeks after you have sent it. You also get a free one-month subscription to Microsoft's online service! wow!

Could be a power surge, I know usually a power surge is 2 rings but Ive had it where it was 3 rings, but the the tv went off too

Itll be working and breaking for awhile, mines was going into checkered screen colors for quite some time before it permanently red ringed.. Just towel it for a few hours and it should break indefinitely, then you can send it in.

@Johnyyz Yeah, they just say they are working on it... Easy solution : Most sellers give you a 1 year guarantee so that if it breaks you can just go to the shop and replace it for another one in 1 day, atleast that's what I did and got it back on 1 day.

Most of the time, speaking from my own experiences, mine arrive around the three week point. I have never had to wait more than a month for an Xbox to be fixed. Also, if you are calling in for a box, be sure to call on a Monday. That way the weekend does not interfere with your shipping.
