Quick Question About White Scrolls

Ok, so I understand that white scrolls make an item that is about to be scrolled protected from losing a slot if the scroll fails, but does this mean that this item will always be protected form losing a slot? Or is it just that one time?

Dang, I thought for a second that it would completely protect the item's slots.... God, they're would be some AMAZING wg's out there then
