Why Is It Competitive?

How and why is this game competitive? I don't see how this game could possibly be competitive with no PvP or anything, the only thing you do is work together for bossing parties.... So how can some people be so competitive about damage? It really is quite weird... Point it out if I'm missing a major aspect of the game or something. *Forget about CPQ and quests like that. (You also have to work together in those anyways)

It's not competitive if you don't listen to the "omgz noob dmg", which not many people do unless you're KSing/being KSed. I haven't heard anyone say anything about damage this year. You just focused on a pretty small part of Maple and made it into a generalization.

there are so many aspects about this game that is competitive. forget about pq? what? thats already an aspect. the stonger you are, the stronger your "party" will be. aside from party quests... the stronger you are... 1.you train more efficient/ level faster 2. kill boss fastter/ gain more exp 3. outdamaing people can be competitive/ compete on who has better gear lastly, who on earth decided that the only way to compete is versus one another? you fail for even thinking that way. 3.

Well think about it like a sports game. You're obviously competing against the other team but some people can also be competitive with their own.

@roca He pretty much hit it right on the nail. I have a competitive nature I try to have the highest range I could possibly get...but ever since the potential system its become very hard and I dont feel like spending 100$ on cubes.
