[EDIT] THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED. THERE ARE TOO MANY REDUNDANT POSTS AND TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT READ THE FIRST POST CAREFULLY ENOUGH.[/EDIT] Hello boys and girls. I have a bit of a dilemma that is thorougly frustrating me and I seek assistance. If anybody would care to give a shot at it, I'd greatly appreciate it and award you 100,000 mesos in game (Windia or Scania). Depending on my mood, I may increase the reward up to 500,000 mesos + 5 fame + any sort of equip or scroll item that I may have lying around. Please read on if you're interested. SO--a couple days ago my internet access was taken away because Comcast had not received the check for the service. My roommate called them, as she is the account holder, and I had internet again within a couple minutes. However, several of my programs stopped working including MapleStory, Internet Explorer, and MSN Messenger. All of these programs I use regularly so I am grieving over having to do without them. I am asking for possible solutions to help me get these programs working again without having to restore my whole computer. The first person to suggest a working solution will receive the reward. However, if somebody somehow succeeds in bringing up a partial solution before somebody brings up a solution to get all the previously mentioned programs working, then a partial award will go to that person. NOTE: ASKING ME TO RESTORE MY WHOLE COMPUTER IS NOT THE SOLUTION I'M LOOKING FOR. ONCE AGAIN, I'M LOOKING FOR A WAY TO RESTORE THESE PROGRAMS WITHOUT HAVING TO RESTORE MY WHOLE COMPUTER. NO AWARD WILL BE GIVEN FOR THIS SOLUTION. AIM users are welcome to send me messages. My screenname is ECSTASYHIGHGURL. [EDIT] I have already tried unplugging the modem (i think that's what it's called). I have wireless connection. Everything was working perfectly fine the night before. Yes, I have internet access. Just not to those programs. All my firewalls were off at the time. I am the only one that uses my computer. I am the only one out of 5 people using the same internet access experiencing problems. I am posting this from my problematic computer so once again, YES, i have internet but the previously mentioned programs don't work. Internet connection is SECURED. Nobody can use it without the password. I have an HP laptop with WINDOWS XP MS and MSNM have error messages whereas IE simply states the page cannot be displayed.[/EDIT]

hmm nice screen name anywhoo when the internet came back on for a few mins and then stopped working again have you tried calling Comcast back again incase there has been another problem?

try to unplug the internet connection and then wait about 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in and wait for the connection to fully restore. Then try it out

try to see if the computer detects the router that way u can be sure u have internet. maybe u should try reconnecting ur router or doing a check on it(with the PC like: connecton, line , ect). try reinstallying programs. Or see if ur firewall isnt blcoking them =P

First of all, I suggest you use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer as it freezes A LOT LESS often. Secondly, I suggest you run a virus scan throughout the entire system. Third, I suggest you call Comcast for more assisstant. Fourth, CHECK YOUR FIREWALL. I Suggest You To Delete Those Programs and RE-INSTALL or UPGRADE. Maplesotry can be easily e-installed...... MSN MEssenger can be upgraded to MSN Messegner pro edition, and I suggest you download Mozilla Firefox. Much more simpler and more easy

I had the same problem with my computer ages ago. I'm assuming that your using someone else's computer to post this? Try playing Internet Checkers, by START> All Programs>Games>Internet Checkers. and if it works that means that your internet is connected and working therefore it's the programs problem not the internet. Restarting the computer may help refresh those programs?

Describe what you mean "don't work." Do you mean they won't open...or they do open, but do not go further than that?

Are other people using your wireless internet? some people practice something known as Wardriving, where they drive/walk to find wireless networks and use them on a notebook computer. Is your router settings correct?
