HB pants question

Hey guys, So, I currently have HB pants. I was told that if you wear the pants, then equip an overall, the HB skill will stay there. What if I decided to cube my top/bottom, and I did the HB-keeping procedure, Which means, I wore an overall, then put the top/bottom on, but now I decide to cube the top/bottom. So I need to take them off, once I cube it, and put the top/bottom back on, will my HB still be hotkeyed(considering I'm not wearing hb pants)?
