Well since Ulu city came out I wondered how training would pan out there. So I thought I'd share my experiences. I didnt try Dukus because I doubt I'd be able to hit them. Each sample was measured at 10 minute intervals using speed pills, warrior elixers. I'm at level 109 when these samples were taken and remember your damage range and training style will make your results different. I'll use Red Wyverns as a comparison. My damage range is underaverage-average at 2300~4166 w/ warrior elixer. All these samples were taken at the same level with the exact same equips. The only difference was having to use an acc pill at Petris. Red Wyvern Map: Red Wyvern Nest -weak to ice, trained using ice/lightning- HP 53000 Exp 2500 Magic Dmg ~2.4k, Touch Dmg ~1.7k (PG ~800), Touch Dmg with PG+Threaten ~350 2.74%/10 minutes, Roughly ~16.44%/hour Pot usage around 25 Honsters/10 minutes (i didnt really check my pots before hand but i know it wasnt much) Petrifighters Map: Ulu City Central -neutral, freezes, used ice/lightning- HP 80,000 Exp 4550 Magic Dmg ~2.4k, Touch Dmg ~2.4k (PG ~1.7k), Touch Dmg with PG+Threaten ~800 2.52%/10 minutes, Roughly ~15.12%/hour Pot usage around 37 Honsters/10 minutes Veetrons and Slygiee, Map: Ulu Estate II -both neutral, freezes, used fire/lightning- Veetron HP 38000 (?) 1900 Exp. Slygiee HP 48000(?) 2500 Exp Veetron Magic Dmg 1.3k, Touch Dmg ~1.2k (PG~700), Touch Dmg with PG+Threaten ~350 Slygiee Magic Dmg 1.4k, Touch Dmg ~1.4k (PG~ 800), Touch Dmg with PG+Threaten ~400 2.97%/10 minutes Roughly ~ 17.82%/hour Pot Usage around 28 Honsters/10 minutes Indepth comments Training at Petris isn't too bad but they take a while to kill with ice. The map is gigantic and is easily split and shared for party training. I say that because I was on one platform for the majority of the time. Also I highly HIGHLY recommend using threaten when you train. Especially when you need to stand in one Petri to be able to hit another with slash blast. Threaten will save you A LOT on pots here. You can try fire/lightning charges but you're going to use a lot of pots. It's a shame that this is worse than red wyverns solo, and I've yet to try party training here. I'm going to try here again when I'm 110 with my MoNs extra power boost. Now surprisingly Veetrons and Slygiees are better than Red Wyverns. The monsters dont stun and their magic attacks are easily avoidable by jumping for walking out of range. The training style is simple, just use fire and lure the mobs from one side to the other than slash blast em to oblivion, I recommend threatening when luring for a nice dmg reduction when killing. This training is much like how warriors trained back in our 2nd job and at solo himes. Training here isn't very pot heavy unlike himes especially if you Threaten them. I hope this training sample helped and if you're not sure sample them yourselves. And remember, having higher damage than me will obviously mean that you can get higher percantages but you should still

None of the monsters there are elementally weak, so, imo, grinding there isn't worth it. Threatening when training is a waste of time (no offence). You could be spending the time threatening fitting in an extra hit with slash blast/power strike instead. I honestly feel that blue wyverns (and gallos) are way better than ulu city mobs for wks/paladins. And, believe it or not but the exp:hp ratio for most of the ulu city monsters is worse than most popular training mobs.

In fact himes just about outclasses any training Ive tried and they arent weak to 3rd job charges they just burn pots like no other. And threatening is a good use of time because it drastically boosts your survival rate at petris and decreases pot usage. I'd take that over one more ps or sb anyday. And personally I hate Blue wyverns with a passion, just saying. |

I trained at Blue Wyverns till 120. The elemental weaknesses make the training faster and more effecient, and what the chick up there said was right, threaten just slows you down pretty much. If you kill them faster you will use less pots anyway.

I guess when mobbing, threatening can really help training, especially if you're nuts enough to not put any points in Final Attack, which in my opinion is useless until the BB patch in training, and not putting any points can really speed up training, but cause you to lose out in bossing... You want to keep up the kbing when you're not using ice charge. On the other hand, petrifighters deal very high damage already, and are really big, so FA training could be better there. Rush would also help a ton.

I always trained on skeles in the first place which are not elemental weak to me yet, so I thought dukus were a nice substitute for a change of scenery. I'm only 114 and with ice/light charges they didn't stun me... And if they don't do that they aren't fast enough to really run into you lol. I only ever use threaten on large mobs I've lured or as a ploy to get people to invite me on boss runs haha.

I think I'll stick to Road of Regrets 3/4 for training, hey give out 4500/4960 exp and they are weak to fire/lightning, I can 3hit KO them. It seems better than Skeles for me IMO

After reading this I might actually check out Veetrons and Slygiees. I'm a Crusader, but do you think it'd still be a decent place to train for me?
