I see so many people complain about the direction Maple Story is going and it just seems like these kids can't seem to be happy with anything. I for one don't see any problems in any of the recent patches or a change in the content given over the past few years. I've been enjoying the patches as much as I possibly can, however based on the way I play the game I get less content from the patches because unlike a normal Mapler I cant really participate in the PQ's or Boss battle, in fact the only thing I honestly get from the patches are some common equips if given, or the occasional quest. The life of being a player who only plays as a Perm Beginner, or Str Mage. What exactly do you consider "Old MapleStory"? Six years ago, when I started you couldn't really do much. You could only visit the 6 basic towns and the content around them, not including Orbis. Then when a little patch came and gave us Ludi people complained because there was nothing to do there. Sorry but I enjoyed my time there, I loved LPQing because it was and still is a great way to make friends. Old MapleStory was a complete utter bore and you shouldn't be complaining because a game is making updates for the future, every game ever created makes updates until it dies. Don't like the direction it's going? Why play it then? Because you're addicted to the game isn't really an answer because thats a rather stupid answer. If you honestly want to go back to "Old MapleStory" and want the limited content then honestly the only way you'll get there is by making a Beginner, or Str Mage or another odd build. Sure we've gotten more training spots then there was in the past but the training is rather close to the same as "Old MapleStory" However since you're already complaining, you'd probably complain about playing an Odd jobbed character and say it's too hard or something whatever the case, here's my rant on this subject.

Less content, takes longer to level, less choices, uglier NX, etc. How do you not see what is so great about it? >.>

- No enhance scrolls - No potential on equips - No Scissors of Karma (So you actually had to join a run to get stuff like Zakum Helmet) - No family buffs - No 2x EXP - PQ's were still being done - Only adventurer classes (No DB, Evan, Aran, Cygnus) And I'm sure more people will expand this list for me :D
yo937 : old maple was when there were only the main classes no heros no subclasses and nothing was over powerd
Main classes? Hah... Before pirates. Also, you've obviously never been around for the whole Dexless Sin debacle so I'm going to think it's safe to assume you don't know what you're talking about and/or weren't even here in ye olden days.
DaKong : - No Scissors of Karma (So you actually had to join a run to get stuff like Zakum Helmet) - No family buffs - No 2x EXP
Those are all extremely convenient to me and many other Maplers. They don't worsen the game at all for me. Also makes things easier for people who sell zhelms.

You must have been incredibly bored for that eye piercing wall of text that you call a rant.

Old Maplestory. An outdated piece of hardware riddled with hackers and domination by Assassins. A boon for "old" players to cling to with the recent updates. Like Bluebell Ice Cream or before the Great Depression. Been playing 2 years after Maplestory came out. Loving the changes.
yo937 : old maple was when there were only the main classes no heros no subclasses and nothing was over powerd
Well to me, everything's overpowered that isn't a Beginner, Str Mage, or Odd build. Quit worrying about how much damage everything's doing... I cant even play a normal class anymore because at level 20+ it's over powered to me.

I agree with you, updates is what makes MapleStory alive. and I loved each of them the only thing I dislike is that they didn't fix the d/c problem Win7 x64 while the most OS used today is Win7 and 4 months past and still is not fixed

I'm satisfied with those new updates we are getting except the potential system, because that completely makes the players who are willing to pay a big amount of real money to purchase NX for cubing the strongest which is unfair to most players who don't spend that much on NX.
yo937 : old maple was when there were only the main classes no heros no subclasses and nothing was over powerd
Says the Aran. Old maple was full of KSing sins and NO mini dungeons (Do you know how hard it is to actually grind at level 20 as a warrior? You hit 2 one attack and 250 the next),it was nearly impossible to become rich (now everyone has the opportunity to), everything was a bamboo hat...I'm sorry, but I'd much rather have an owl head that gives me accuracy than a wannabe samurai hat that gives +3 STR. I'll edit this after breakfast

the main reason why people love the "old maplestory" is because back then, it wasnt all about being OP and who has the most powerful damage; it was mostly about socialising, making friends, doing those quest with friends, leveling up by yourself, everyone was equal THAT was what "old maplestory" was about. nowadays its all about damage, and whos stronger, if your not well funded, you are then looked down upon i.e. if a person doesnt have a zhelme by the lvl of 50, poeple will diss them calling them noob etc. ive played maplestory since GLOBAL was released and i, for one, dont mind the new updates the Nexon is providing us, which gives us more stuff to do, but the attitude that players use against others nowadays destroyed the peaceful world of maplestory.
