Some guy said this to me the other day. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

disagree. stereotypes are bad.theres a degree of truth, but it would be stupid to say ALL merchants are scammers.

I consider most merchers scammers. If you tell a kid something is 5m when its 20m, thats scamming. If someone has something for 5m in a shop thats worth 20m, thats not scamming. It all depends on how you do it. Saying theyre ALL scammers isnt true, but it has a degree of truth like that other chick said.

Uhhh... Disagree. Some merchanters rip you off I must admit. I usually merchant by looking through stores and buy things in there. Sometimes I will buy stuff from the FM entrance if I can't find anything else where. Anyway, the other day I saw a merchant do something kind of nice. O.o He bought this item from a guy for really cheap in his store. (The guy missed a digit of the price) The guy asked to buy the item back and offered to pay a little more money to get it back. So the guy let him buy it back for the same price. O.o Then I famed him! :P When I merchant I do not lie about how much it is worth. I offer low and see if they will accept, if not then I'll negotiate some. If they want to much for it I won't buy. I usually buy things to merchant cheap, but I if I am buying an equip that I wear I'll buy it for average price or a little lower if I can find a deal.

[/quote] Well some do say OFFER.. this their problem not knowing the price, not mine. OFFER means give me YOUR price you're willing to pay. Not a scam, thats called ripping them off.. and thats a different story.

Chances are, if something has 'all' in it (examples: 'All dexless sins are stupid', 'all henehoes are dumb') it's probably wrong. Although I can safely say that most are scammers. I agree with Dulcineaux, if youre the patient type who's only trying to earn a small sum per item (such as buying 8 ATT WGs at 35m and selling them back for 39m) you aren't a scammer. If youre one of thsoe wierdoes who spam (B>*insert a long list of high value, high demand items here*) and you offer really crappy amounts, then yes. You are a scammer.

Ok let me point out the core of this debate: View 1. Merchants are scamming by definition. The deception is in buying something lower than someone else would pay for, attempting to trick a seller or buyer into thinking no better deal is possible. View 2. Merchants are creating profit by contributing to market fluidity. The profit they gain is not at all ill-gotten. Discuss.

I disagree with all of them being scammers, though (IMO) 98% are @ holes, I asked a dude on he's hierd merch wdf is he's problem that he called me a feg on my store, the next day I got defamed 40 times by he's 40 chars.
