0.5 second screenfreezes on a 6 seconds interval

Ey Basil, I've been experiencing 0.5 second screenfreezes on a 6 second interval lately... as it totally messes up my gameplay and ignores 50% of the potion requests I make I re-installed the game twice since yesterday, making sure that there is nothing related to maplestory left on my desktop at all. Yet... im still cursed Is this a common Vista problem? I've heard some buddies with the same trouble but theirs got fixed by re-installing, I've opened a ticket so i should get a response that theyre working on it anytime soon to be left rotten and never be answered again. Any idea what I could do to try to fix it? Thanks in advance, Zell

It's a known issue caused by unclean programming by Nexon. There's nothing we can do about it for now until Big Bang, where they recode most of the game. Hopefully that will fix this very annoying issue.

do you play on a laptop or desktop? I had the same exact problem, and it turned out that I had my laptop on power saver mode, so it would freeze up like that here and there. if its set to that, switch it to the performance mode. If you play on a desktop, make sure you don't have too many backround programs running.

I have this problem too, I just ended up dying too much so I decided to leave the freaking game. I made a similar thread months ago where someone said that he turned his computer's performance to "high" (or max, whichever it is) and that stopped the interval freeze. However, it didn't work for me on both my XP and Win7. All my siblings have this lag as well and our OS are XP, Vista and Win7 so I wouldn't say it's a Vista problem. My friend is using XP and she never had this problem. I guess we were unlucky. Point being; it's not just Vista. Either way, hope you can fix it. Best of luck.

Same, once my evan was in el nath on 100hp. The first pot worked, and i spam for 2 mins until i could use my pots

i had this problem, but luky for me, i was about to upgrade my comp anyways. i had to change my cpu and increased my ram. Costed abit too :S. Cpu was $95 australian, and increased ram was $100. In the end, it resolved it , also i changed it from W7 back to XP

It's kind of sad when you have to quit a game because of some programming error (if that's the case). Everything was fine until they implented Evans, they probably messed up something . Before, it was a huge spike every 15 seconds. I guess Nexon's "fix" for it was to make it a smaller spike every 6 seconds. So if you have a slower computer, you probably still notice the lag spike. As for the cause of the lag spike, I suspect it's some kind of hack checking. Can't think of anything else that would require you to run a hard process like that every so often.

I'm having the same problem! I'm running XP. I guess we can always defrag. The last patch was wonderful, I didnt lag at all. Stupid Etrace >.>

I have vista and I used to have the periodic lag happening every 15 seconds. (started when evans came out) I don't have any more periodic lag anymore. Perhaps the fix they made doesn't work for everyone. Well, it works for me.
