2 different girls like me, Which Girl to choose?

So heres the situation. The first girl lets call her harriet, second girl lets call her Jane. So harriet is a old friend of mind I met in gr 6, and now in gr 11 were close friends and hang out and stuff. The thing is few days ago I noticed she kept looking at me, always smiling. Laughing awkwardly sometimes near me, and shoving me here and their while we hang out. One day I asked her, because I was curious "Hey Harriet, would you like to go to the movies on friday with me?. Movie is called RED and it's pretty awesome action film." she said "Yes!, i've been waiting for you to ask me out for months. I wasn't sure if you liked me." and kissed me. I was really happy. Anyways this was Last Monday, and Thursday Jane in my history class randomly handed me a sheet saying "I Know we've only known each other for a month, but you treated me with respect and whenever I was down, you made me laugh. Would you like to go on a date?". The thing was I never knew if jane liked me, I had no idea. She was hard to read. Of course I said yes, and Friday (yesterday) I went out with Harriet had a amazing time, kissed and stuff. Thing is I got a date with Jane tomorrow. Their both very beautiful, and athletic. Only difference is Jane is a bit more bright then Harriet and a bit more pretty, but Harriet is more euthastic, wise, and we know each other for long time. Edit: Thanks guys for the help, it was hard because number of reasons. First off some of are right where when Jane confessed I started to think differently. Thing was In history class I was just a friend to her for a month, helped her study for tests and listened to her. Thing was I never knew she liked me at all, I just was being friendly. Like really, a popular attractive girl was the last thing I thought would being even close to interested in me. Afterall I know I'm not the most popular or "jocks" type. Though your right it gives me a bit more confidence that happened. I called Jane like 2mins ago. Here what happened. The call : Me "Hey Jane", Her "hey, i'm looking forward to our date, oh and by the way after the movies I'd like if we would hang out a bit to get to know each other more." Me (stressed, thinking argh) "yeah uhh, about the date...I'm kinda unsure about it", Her "what you mean unsure?, I thought we were fine". Me "hm, well you see..do you know harriet?", Her "yeah, Shes a friend of mine why?". me "well you see, I Kinda went on a date with her on Friday and thinking to be with her. Not that I don't think your less of then her, it's just that I've known for longer, and I think friends would be best?". Her (strangely took it different) "What?, your telling me that your taking out that girl?. Why? I get better grades then her, I'm more attractive obviously and she is a bit flat chested.". Me (angry now) "what you mean by that?, I don't care about her chest size. I guess it was good we didn't go out, obviously you think to much about your ego." Her (sounded a bit sad) "Whatever, Just thought that you

The one you like more. If you don't know, it means you don't like either of them enough to be dating them, imo. Oh yeah, and make your choice and don't lead either of them on - it could make things complicated for you.... just learn to do the whole rejecting-girls-nicely thing.

Everyone is giving reasoning as to why Harriet is the better choice, whether on grounds of caution or otherwise. I am not going to do that. I'd like to point something out. Who did you confess to? Harriet or Jane? You confessed to Harriet. When you confessed, were you thinking about Jane? Nope. When did you start considering Jane a potential girlfriend? AFTER she confessed to you. How about before? Nah. Stay true to your heart and date Harriet.

I'm not doing this to simply tell him who to date, I'm doing this to inform him so that he can keep this in mind for later situations. He only considered Jane after he found out he had a chance with her. Too many people only start liking someone after he/she confesses, and I've a number of qualms with that kind of mindset; I don't condemn it, but I don't condone it.

The other thing to consider too, is that even AFTER Jane confessed, he STILL had Harriet on the brain. Not Jane alone, not mostly Jane some Harriet, but equally so, even favouring Harriet.

[/quote] Astute observation :D You're right. Instead of scaling Jane > Harriet, he weighed them equally, if not a tad more towards Harriet.

He's telling himself he has to decide, forcing his own hand - Because of the amazing time he had with HARRIET.

[/quote] I wouldn't go so far as to say that his reasoning behind reaching a final decision so heavily involves the successful date with Harriet; rather, that amazing experience has more or less created a standard for him and a comparative lens through which he sees Jane (though, as you said, it has also given him a good dose of confusion). above Lulz that's certainly a possibility
