How to persuade my dad?

My Dad won't let me get a laptop however my mom said that if i really want one she could get me one for christmas! However, my dad is the "boss" of the house... so i can't get one without getting yelled at! I said That they wouldn't buy me anything for christmas other than that! I really need one for school work, and so my mom doesn't kick me off her computer anymore D: How can i persuade my dad then?

they want you to be the better brother that doesn't have a computer and has to share so that you seem like you're very flexible with your time and they can show off to their friends while badmouthing their younger son. idk, just a theory otherwise i would just wait it out
