ZayusAfter Byrong77 posted the new exp table, I decided to do some math. Going by this exp table as well as others provided by Hidden Street, the following gives us an example as to how much faster we will be leveling than before. This table bassically shows what level you would've had to get to with the old exp table to be Levels 30, 50, 70, 100, 120, 160 and 200 with the new exp table. "After the balancing patch, Leveling up to 30 would be equivalant to leveling up to 24 with our current exp and Level 22 with the old exp." [ After ## = Current = Before ] Level 30 = Level 24 = Level 22 ______________________________________ Level 50 = Level 37 = Level 35 ______________________________________ Level 70 = Level 52 = Level 49 ______________________________________ Level 100 = Level 78 = Level 75 ______________________________________ Level 120 = Level 102 = Level 98 ______________________________________ Level 160 = Level 146 = Level 142 ______________________________________ Level 200 = Level 192 = Level 187 (There are a thousand other factors that must be taken into consideration before accurately determining how much faster we will be leveling. This table is based entirely on Exp comparisons of the old, current, and future exp table arrangements)

Well how about the exp of the monsters we are suppose to train on at our lvl? We may need less but the hp:exp ratio changes dramatically. Plus we have to fight monsters equall to or lower than our lvl. That means no more gallos at lvl 75.

XP is one tiny variable. Until the accuracy and damage formulas are implemented in GMS, and each monster's GMS HP are known, we have absolutely no idea how fast or slow leveling will be. It's quite possible that high levels have it terribly hard between 120 and 160, due to skelies being too high level to hit and they are stuck training and fighting for Windraider and other CWK maps into their 140s or so. I agree that ignoring those other variables, it looks quite fast. However, there's too many unknowns for how the final GMS implementation will go down to really do anything more than blindly guess.

wait so if a have a bandit that has say, 100million total experince now, and the BB patch comes will i level up and have the same amount of EXP or will the exp adjust?

MMan222
neyo296 : wait so if a have a bandit that has say, 100million total experince now, and the BB patch comes will i level up and have the same amount of EXP or will the exp adjust?
Nobody's leveling up when the BB patch hits. No exp % changes. It's because people are looking at this like all that's changing is the exp to level. If that were true, then we would keep our current level exp and % would increase. Since monster exp and damage formulas and EVERYTHING is changing all at once, it's not necessary. It would be like Nexon giving everyone with existing exp free level ups. After BB we will train faster anyway, so there's no loss to players at all. In fact, we lose by training now because it's so much slower now than it will be after BB. I honestly don't think this thread should exist, because it's isolating only one factor that, when put into context, becomes almost completely irrelevant when we're actually looking at leveling speed. Nice try, but this patch doesn't work like that.

I could gripe about how it'll be so much easier to level and that I wasted time leveling, but honestly the thought of actually getting to 70 after having this account for forever is looking better than that. Seriously, if you're high level and want to complain about it then go ahead, it's not going to change Nexon's mind.
NigFish : do it again in level sections. you need to factor in the dmg we do . and exp we gain.. and the skills we will have.. i will be different.. you must make it so like you do it with like lv50-60 before ; current ; after.. CHANGE IT! NAUW
he said at the end "(There are a thousand other factors that must be taken into consideration before accurately determining how much faster we will be leveling. This table is based entirely on Exp comparisons of the old, current, and future exp table arrangements)", if you want to know an accurate factor then figure it out yourself :l lol well i'm looking forward to BB, let's see how it all turns out ^^

Now the real question is... If I'm lv 84 now, am I still lv 84 after? If I have like 10,000,000 exp total from all levels, then would that be 10,000,000 exp afer big bang, in which case i'd level like 20 times? Edit: Someone answered nevermind

Consider this significant factor, all ye non-believers. Effectively, he's saying that 192 (in GMS) is the new 200 post-BB. But how much exp is that really? The sum of all 8 levels we now do not need to attain is: 11,348,038,235 ~ or 11 billion. Okay, sure, I hear you say, but by level 192 you're working experience quantities just cracking 1 billion each. A few more billion, meh, who cares. It's for the glory right? The glory you get to share with, like, 150 other people in each job class. Regardless, think about this. The experience you need to accumulate in each level (give or take a few) to work your way up to level 192, is: 15,707,003,660. Roughly 15.7 billion. Those last 8 levels are approximately 72% of all the experience you ever earned in Maple Story up to that point. Who can really say that it is a good thing to have to grind through that? Granted, it's not as if you're hunting snails at level 192 (unless you are), but You might as well start a new character and work up to level 192 all over again. My calculations are a bit off. I used excel to add up the numbers, but lost some here and there. At the worst, I would only anticipate a 12% margin of error, in which case, my assertion still stands- Any effort, no matter how sneaky (as in, not being able to fight skeles for 10x exp, oh noes), to decrease the exp inflation in this game is a great idea.
They definitely need to lower exp inflation at the higher levels, but I believe it's meant to be a sort of "soft level cap" somewhere in the mid-100s. Yes, there's like one or two things you can't do at 150, but the vast majority of the game is contained in levels 1-120, even post-BB. After 120, there are very few quests, almost no PQs, a few places to train at, and only a handful of equips. There's almost no content in the later levels, and that's on purpose. The only reason PB and HT exist is because some people have made it that far (you insane people, you) and Nexon wants them to keep playing. Other than that, there might as well be a level cap in the middle of 4th job. I'm hoping Nexon eventually decides to severely reduce the exponential rise of the exp curve. It's a tragedy that the low levels got 80% reduced exp while the higher levels got 30%. That DEFINITELY tells me Nexon doesn't want everyone leveling up a lot. At least, not to THOSE levels. It's not a matter of leveling to 200 being a huge accomplishment; it's basically like leveling to 120 back when zombies were the final training ground for high levels.

This is all false. It doesn't only go by the exp needed, WHY DON'T PEOPLE GET THAT? The exp from monsters, party quests, and quests are LOWERED, that means it will not have so much of an effect on the ease of leveling.

All of those monsters that people talk about training on are duds now, yes, but for people who are less interested in killing skeles or whatever else for however long it takes should appreciate the greater versatility of their possible options now. They should appreciate the de-emphasis on getting 20 forms of exp boosters just to gain 25% of a level at level 160 or so. Although I have never had a character leveled that high, I cringe at the redundancy of hunting mobs over level 120. All of these people doubting the application of the grind, please provide a level-by-level breakdown of exp balance differentiating pre-BB hunting areas vs. post-BB hunting areas. Make sure you list all of the available options. Until then, long distance flaming of hopeful posts without your own substantial calculations to contradict what people like TS have compiled will be seen as delusional Stockholm syndrome. As in, you've subjected yourself to the heinous grind of Maple Story for so long now that you've forgotten how to hate it. I, for one, would like to level up to 100 someday, at the rate of KMS BB, and I don't want to fork over whatever I would need to pay in NX and Family and leeching bribes (and more) to make it happen.
AznBoi94 : Wow...I just lvled up to lvl 51 at the moment. I'd say 4/5 free win cpqs would make me lvl up and now lvl 52 = lvl 70. Thats so fast X__X
nonono its saying that if you make a new character after big bang, and you leveled it to 70, it would take as long as getting to level 52 currently. But no, after big bang, 4/5 cpq will not get you to level 70 from 52.
